We put our URL on the save the date. With most guests needing to travel your wedding sounds like one where STDs would be quite helpful.
We also put our website on the save the dates and invites. Felt like save the dates were necessary since people needed a lot more time in advance to look at travel plans.
Save the dates! I think STDS are definitely a worthwhile investment to make sure your guests know all the info more than two months in advance.
We put ours on the save the dates so that they have plenty of heads up since about 1/2 of our guests are from out of town.

We are having a pseudo-destination wedding (95% of guests need to travel and stay over night). Our wedding website has all the information they need regarding hotels, flights, etc...
I was going to put this website address in the invitation and send the invites out 8 weeks in advance, but now I'm thinking that might be cutting it to close for some people's planning processes?
Also, I have not been planning to send a save the date, but now think maybe that's a better option? Do you put the website on your save the date? (it would be sent out about 5 months prior).
