Clueless woman here about weddings, I have no female friends or relatives I can ask advice to so looking for some guidance.
My dream wedding is actually a tiny reception, more like a formal dinner really, with just close family and friends in a beautiful cozy place and great food, take some nice pictures, make some nice memories and avoid wedding gifts as well as the first dance and all that jazz(I don’t like to be the center of attention but would love to share this special moment with my family, boyfriend feels the same way), so I like to guess this could be planned pretty fast, or am I wrong?
The guest list will be easy enough so that doesn’t worry me, around 30 guests on my side and on his side only his parents would travel to my hometown and maybe one of his brothers, I am not too picky about the place either, though the actual ceremony would be in a catholic church, there has always been one I have thought it is very beautiful, is not the most popular in my small city but it’s probably one of the top ones, so that is pretty much the only thing I would have to book with plenty of time in advance just in case I think, but how soon?
Like I mentioned on the title I am pretty sure I have more than enough time but figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask in case it’s more complicated than I thought, we are both very private people and value quality over quantity in case that helps.
We don’t have an official date yet due visa paperwork (the one on my profile it is my guess for legal marriage), neither of us wants a winter wedding and doing the math that would mean we will have to wait if paperwork is done and end up getting legally married in winter of 2013 so the ceremony would probably wait until spring 2014… with very very low chances of being on fall of 2013 if we get super-lucky with paperwork.
So if possible I would want to keep it somewhat flexible… plan for the worst but hope for the best kind of thing, how can I do this?
