Trying to figure how much this one would cost me lol. Anyone have any idea of a price range?
That is gorgeous! My guess for an Oscar de la Renta dress like that, about $10,000, if not more.
From what Ive seen, his dresses tend to run in the $8-10k range for sample/off-the-rack. I would assume they skys the limit on prices for a couture one.
@ddubzz: Thats what i figured..... There is a trunk show coming up so maybe i could get a deal
@nycbrde2011: Have you looked at preowned dress websites? You might be able to find that dress and get it for a fraction of the price.
@daisyelyse: I have looked but so far nothing comes up! It is a new style so not sure how long it will be before it starts popping up used somewhere. Anyone know of a style that may be comparable but cheaper?
Has anyone seen anything comparable to this dress? I am so in love with it but know that it is way out of my budget range ......
@CharmCityLady: Thanks but its the lace that I love
This is the dress I cant get out of me head!
You could try Casablanca bridal. They have some lace sheath dresses, but you aren't going to get good quality lace for cheap.
Yeah, the only de la Renta I've seen prices for was one I saw in The Knot magazine last year, and it was priced at 10K
I am planning to spend a few grand but 10k is way over budget. I do want lace though!!! Any other suggestions for a similiar dress ladies!
@nycbrde2011: I would get a lace sheath dress and then have the sash at the top added during alterations.
@nycbrde2011: Take this dress that is similar: http://www.weddingshoppeinc.com/pr/Allure-C158/21564
And get the sash added. I don't think that it would look cheap at all.
P.S. - You can probably get the train in the back removed.
this is the dress that came to mind when i first looked at that... i too am a fan of lace:)

(this is not the actual casablanca website though but its the name and style #)
Trust me, I know what you're going through- this was the Oscar de la Renta that haunted me for a while:

Like you, it's not even the dress itself that I was caught up on, but the lace!
What you're looking for is Venetian or Venice lace- the names are really interchangeable. It goes by some other names too, but that's the most common one.
It's made differently than the lace you typically see- it almost looks like the lace is a stitched pattern.
Most lace dresses are made with Alencon or Chantilly lace, so knowing that you're looking for a specific type of lace could help narrow down your search.
@tinylittlebird: Atleast someone can feel my pain lol. Yes I love the lace!!! I want it so bad!
