OMG that would be so much fun!!!  I’m in the Tampa Bay area!  It’d be great to get a group together and have a girls night out 🙂

Glad I’m not the only one. I feel like I’m one of the only Florida girls on the wedding boards some times. How are you girls doing?!

Hey there, I am from Melbourne and getting married there but my fiance and I live in Tallahassee.  I would love to chat about some local stuff though because I am not down there right now.

Thanks!

Well, I currently live out of state but I did grow up in central FL and that is where my wedding will be.  Would have otherwise loved to meet you guys!  Have you guys picked out venues yet?  Where is everyone getting married?

Here’s mine (you have to scroll down to “weddings” to see the photos)

Aww, I don’t live in Brevard anymore (obvs!), but I went to school at Merritt Island High and am still down there visiting my Mom and little sisters like every 6 weeks. I’d totally be up for doing a meetup with you guys one of the times I’m down next!

10/30 and while I haven’t gotten married yet, I have nothing but positive things to say about this venue thus far and would encourage others to look into it.  If you check around on their website – they offer really great packages for Friday night and Sunday weddings, part of why we’re having ours on a Friday night.  The packages start at $4000 for 60 guests and includes open bar (beer and wine, but you can upgrade to hard alcohol for $5/pp) and a night in the honeymoon suite.  The wedding coordinator there is very friendly and helpful.  I think our reception is going to come out to under $8K (this includes tax and gratuity) for 100 or so guests.  At this point I’m only praying for NO RAIN so we can enjoy the garden courtyard 🙂

ETA:  Don’t want to say where I went to school since I’m afraid someone might know me in real life, but I am also a Brevard county grad!!!

That courtyard looks great.  There is a new location in Melbourne called the Courtyard at the Oaks.  The patio area is pretty but my mom said the inside wasn’t great.  It wasn’t big enough to hold 200 without having to have some people out on the patio and she said it has really low ceilings.  We decided to go with the Eau Gallie Civic Center.

Do you guys have any good recs for DJs and/or photographers in the area?  I don’t think there are that many in the Melbourne area so we may look to contact someone out of Orlando.

What is your price range?  We wanted to stay under $1500 and are using Sandra Johnson photography – http://www.sjfoto.com  She’s based in Orlando and super nice and so easy to work with.

I also LOOOVED this guy’s photos – http://www.scottnmcnamara.com/  – but we had already booked Sandra when I found him.  He is based out of Melbourne and seems like a cool guy.
