I’m getting married in Vegas, one day after you, Wildstyle =)  We’re tying the knot at the Shark Reef Aquarium in Mandalay Bay, followed by lunch at a restaurant TBD and further events in the evening.  We’ll be hosting a welcome dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe the night before.

Me too, but on Halloween at the Bellagio Terazza and Trevi for dinner afterwards.

Do I have to do a welcome dinner? We were thinking of doing a dinner with just our family members and then out for drinks with friends the night before the wedding. Good enough, you think?

Right here!  We’re hosting a welcome dinner at Bellagio Buffet the night before, Getting married outside at Juno Garden at Caesars Palace and having the reception at Joe’s Stone Crab in the Forum Shops.  They have an awesome private room that overlooks the strip.

Shoule be about 40 guests.  I’m a little worried about the reception dinner.  Not too sure how to approach it.  Obviously its not the same as having a regular reception.   I’m not quite sure what to do….40 people doesnt sound like enough people to have dancing.  I have this fear that everyone will eat dinner and start twiddling their thumbs because they are bored.  What is everyone else doing?

@sed8me- I’m also getting married at the Bellagio on the terrazza!!  We are doing the ceremony there, and then the cocktail hour, reception and dancing at Planet Hollywood in the London Club room!!  🙂   We were originally going to have around 30 people have just have dinner at Circo, but the guest list just keeps growing, so we decided to have a full on reception.

Im so glad there are other people doing Vegas weddings!!!

Hi!  My FI and I want to get married on the gondola at the Venetian.  We haven’t settled on a date yet, because we have a very limited budget and still trying to figure out exactly how to swing the reception.

We are considering getting a really large suite (1800 Sqft) and having an in suite reception.  We are kind of stuck on what to serve.  The Venetian officially does not allow outside food, however I spoke with a caterer who says they don’t enforce this policy.

So, at this point, thinking keg, and wine for sure, maybe some signiture drinks, and not sure about champagne (possibly a bar tender).  I was thinking of putting on the invites that it is a cake and champagne reception, so I guess I would need to serve champagne.  Otherwise, not sure how to word it, dessert and drink recpetion?  We definatly are not serving dinner, so it will be late in the evening (8 or 9) and it will say on the invitation. I think about 2 hours and than let everyone go out and live it up Vegas style.

So if anyone else is trying to do their reception on a super small budget, I would love to hear about it!  Of course I am interested in the bigger more costly ones too, I just can’t do it that way for myself.

We did the Vegas wedding at Las Vegas Weddings on 5th and Bellevue.  They had a fab Terrace that I just fell in love with and just insisted on using.  We got married almost 2 weeks ago and it was just what we wanted a fun, memorable time with family and friends:)  See some photos below of the big day, more to come soon…

@deadmedia:  How are you going about hosting the welcome dinner at the Bellagio buffet?

We are also doing dinner at Joes and I am still a little unsure about how to handle it as far as music and what not goes because I’ve never been to something like I’m doing.  We are planning to go out after dinner w/ our friends and family that want to join us so I was thinking that would be enough but now I’m thinking about dancing at the dinner.  Not sure.

@myvegaswedding2011: We’re just doing a regular ole dinner after the ceremony. Then I figured the night would be young and we could do whatever -gamble, dancing, a show, party in the suite, photoshoots with the photogs, etc. Doesn’t really matter to me what we end up doing, LOL. I guess I should have something in mind!

We are getting married this Jan in Vegas. I hadn’t thought much about a welcome dinner, but it sounds like a nice idea. I guess we will see what my budget looks like when time gets closer, lol.

Our plans right now;

Get in town Friday, get license, etc.

Wedding Saturday 2pm, followed by running around pictures and taking photos everywhere. Dinner as a group somewhere, followed by gambling, dancing or whatever anyone wants to do.

Sunday…hadn’t thought about yet, maybe group breakfast? Many will be heading home at this point in time as we’ll just be there for the weekend.

Thinking the whole weekend will mostly be a casual play it be ear kind of event…but I my nerves might take over and dictate more planning as the big day gets closer.

I am getting married 9.29 at the Venetian and our reception is at Valentino (also at the venetian).  Planning the wedding has been a snap and I can’t wait!  I am expecting around 10 people total (including FI and I).  Our welcome dinner is going to be at Lucky Changs and we’re also doing a brunch/lunch on Friday after the wedding (but IDK where yet).
