My photog is from about 45 mins away, so we are picking our own locations.

This is also our second e-pic shoot because earlier in our engagement when we weren’t sure if we’d hire a regular photog or a friendor, I found a free session with someone building her portfolio. So for us, the challenge this time is coming up with something different since I don’t want to go to the same places.

Last time, we took pics at our undergrad university and at the local town park.

This time, I think we’re going to take pics at a covered bridge and on a neighbor’s property — it has open fields and the ruins of an old stone farm house that I think are the coolest things ever. It’s is like half walls and open window holes all in stacked stone and mortar. The original property owner built it with rocks pulled from the field as it was plowed!

You may not have neighbors with interesting relics, but I do recommend town parks and any kind of cool public sphere you can find. There is a really large fountain in the center of town that people are always taking pics at.

We had ours taken on the campus of our college.  Although we’d graduated before getting engaged, it was where we met and where we dated.

We actually had ours taken at his mom and dad’s house outside. They have a ridiculously beautiful landscape and lots of flowers everywhere. Also they’re right next to a big green wheat field. Made for very pretty shots.

We also got a little more dressed up and went downtown and took a bunch of shots at the Tavern where we first met. :o)

We are getting ours in a park, it’s pretty big (long I should say, it goes across many cities) so there’s lots of good places to pick. I’m not too picky about where, as long as it’s in a good spot. It’s also where he proposed. Good luck with your search! I’m sure the photographer can find a good place too, they know what to look for : )

We live in Idaho and are BIG fans of the state, so we figured why not have them taken at the oldest building in Idaho which is only 20 min away! It’s absolutley beautiful there.

A friend took our first set that I’m not loving that much. They were at a county park that is like a public garden. Now our wedding photographer includes an engagement shoot and we taking them in the middle of a town square where there is a small park.

@TinyTina: We decided to encorporate our favorite vacation destination and found a photographer that was willing to make the drive.

Our E-Photos will be taken in Yosemite National Park next week (vacation here we come!!!). Our family has been going there twice a year since I was two small to walk and now it is a place we both love. He proposed there last NYE and so it means even that much more.

If you can find a place that means something it makes it just a bit more special over random locations (IMO).
