@FutureMrsPlacencia: we are into anything but snow!
I have lived and travelled all over the world for the past 13 years (currently living in Canada) so I was thinking we could just go to Bali. I know it’s one of the most typical honeymoon places but I kind of like the idea of staying close to home. Also, the flights are super cheap and we could stay in some amazing places for not too much money.
We would have around 3k – 5k to spend I think.

@FutureMrsPlacencia: Actually I used to live in Orlando! There is some pretty cool stuff there. Make sure you go to Universal Studios ‘Islands of Advernture’ as well as Disney World 🙂 They have some awesome rides.

We were originally going to go to Bali or Koh Samui in Thailand but now the FI doesn’t want to leave the country 🙁 so it’s looking like Darwin or far north Queensland.

I’ve just returned from my honeymoon! We went to Phuket Island in Thaiand, and it is soooooo beautiful there! We stayed there for half a month and only spent around 3K!
I’ve shared a few photos in a previous post, you might want to have a look. LOL

Hey, I’m from Australia. I’m getting married in Port Douglas. For our honeymoon, we’re flying over to LA for a couple of days, then we’re going to Miami (just for one night). From Miami, we’re going on a 7 night cruise around the Caribbean and then going to Mexico for 11 days. All up it’s a month long honeymoon, and will cost us about $16K

we live in Brisbane, will get married in Brisbane, and plan on going to Hawaii for our honeymoon 🙂 poor FI will be stuck in line at customs a lot longer than I will, I have an American passport, is it evil for me to find this funny? 😛

We’re going to the US and we’ll be there for almost 3 months! About a month and a half in my FSIL and her FI are flying over so we’re all doing a cross country road trip from LA to Orlando 🙂

@Blue-Bird: LA is awesome, I definitely recommend going on the Peter Pan ride at Disneyland! I know it’s a kid’s ride, and I haven’t been on it since I was 9, but when I go next year I will be going on it again several times 😛 as well as the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, (what the movies were based on) although they have changed it since all the movies came out to incorporate more from the movies, which I think is silly. Books aren’t altered to fit movies based on the books, so why should i ride alter to fit a movie that was based on the ride in the first place?
so definitely recommend Disneyland, Universal Studios is said to be good too 🙂

@jothecatlady: We are almost honeymoon twins! We are also thinking of heading to LA, then San Juan to jump on a 7 night Carribean cruise….we might squeeze in San Fran also. Where in Mexico are you staying & who are you cruising with?
Flights from Aus to LA are getting quite competitive now, for about $1200 return. Cruises are great value.
Hope this post has helped you out!

We are going to Vanuatu.
We have travelled quite a bit and the thought of a short flight (a little over 3 hours) is very exciting!

We got married int he states so our honeymoon was there. We did the following:
1 week in LA (Anaheim) to hit the theme parks and tourist sites and a day trip to San Diego
Then we drove from LA to Joshua Tree National park (for hiking 2 day) then went onto the Mojave desert (2 days 1 night) and then stayed at lake Havasu for 2 nights.
Then drove along route 66 and headed to Vegas (7 days), got married and then flew to San Francisco (5 days) then drove to Yosemite National park (3 nights) then drove to Death Valley Natinal park (2 nights) and then drove back to LA for 3 days.
We then hopped a plane for Hawaii and spent 7 nights on Oahu. Then sadly we had to come home 🙁
We did a mix of splurging and basic hotels (for example we stayed in a tent at Camp Curry in Yosemite because we wanted to be close to nature). But on the travel/honeymoon side we spent about $25K with Hawaii being the most expensive place. But that includes meals, fuel and attraction fees etc.
You would get a lot for your money in Bali or Thailand (or anywhere in Asia really). If you want something different why not try the beaches of Vietnam? And I highly recommend BinTan Island (part of Indonesia but off Singapore) or Boracay in the Phillipines.

We just got back from our honeymoon! We went to Hawaii and stayed in Oahu and Maui. So good. Prices were okay because of the good Australian dollar. Unfortunately, we flew with Air NZ, which was a massive pain in the ass (had to fly out and fly back through Auckland)! But Hawaii itself was gorgeous!
