Sooo, we’re getting married in June and want to wait until the dead of winter to go on our honeymoon, so to hold us over until then, we want a mini-moon!
We thought about Nashville or Chicago. I’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas!

@missa2152: We are having a “semi-destination” wedding in Maine. We live in NYC. We will take a few days to drive back down from Maine to NYC staying at cute little B&Bs along the way.
It’ll be late September so all the leaves will be changing & beautiful.

I think we are going to rent a cabin by the lake for a few days. It is only a few hours from here.

I want to do this. J doesn’t seem to like the idea. We’re getting married in October so I figured it’d be a pretty time of the year to go on a mini-moon to the Poconos or somewhere. Then I’d probably go on our honeymoon during the winter to flee from the cold weather!

FI & I aren’t huge on the common honeymoon ideas so we’re actually booked at a nice bed & breakfast outside a near by city. 4 night stay comes out to less than 700, they have had great reviews, and we can always take a day to check out the city if we like =)

We will be heading to either Oregon or Vancouver Island for our mini-moon. Oregon is our favourite spot, and we always go there the last week of October, so it’s a tradition, but I’m from BC and love the island, as does my FI, so that’s an option too 🙂

We may only get away with a mini-moon at first, so we’re looking at doing a 2 or 3 night vacation to a city that’s close by, maybe Minneapolis or Duluth for a B&B. Kind of a bummer because I wanted a warm vacation, but I’ll be a newlywed so I’ll go for cozy 🙂

We just stayed in our home city and played tourist…Stayed 2 nights in the Ritz Carlton downtown, went out for a nice dinner at The Melting Pot, saw a couple of movies…it was wonderful!

We did Newport because it was easy. We had a wonderful time. I think Chicago sounds great, I’ve always wanted to go, I hear the restraunts there are amazing! What are you looking to do during your mini-moon?

For my mini-moons, we went to NYC for the weekend since our wedding was in Philadelphia. Then when we got back to Seattle, we had a mini-moon to Disneyland.

Definately Chicago since you are so close! So much to do there and awesome restaurants!

Any Chicago brides have suggestions on things to do? 🙂 (Romantic places to eat would be appreciated!)
