PenguinLove:  We’re off to Costa Rica for 2 weeks! We choose Costa Rica because Hawaii was way too expensive, but we wanted a combination of being about to relax and enjoy being newlyweds while still experiencing new things. So we’ve decided on an all inclusive for a week, then we’re staying in treehouses and going on excursions!

We are off to Ladera Resort in St. Lucia for 7 nights.  We fly out the day before into Atlanta and will spend the night there, so will be gone a total of 8 nights.  The Atlanta thing was really becuase I didn’t want to leave MSP at 5:30 AM and have a 45 minute layover on an international flight in ATL.

We thought about going back to Hawai’i but I really wanted to go some place we haven’t been before, and the Caribbean is easy (been to Jamaica and Bahamas, so St. Lucia was another I always wanted to go to).  That is how we decided.  I wanted a warm location where we could totally relax.

Normally I am a budget traveler but since it is our honeymoon we decided to really splurge on a luxury hotel – so we will see if it is worth it 🙂

We live in Florida and we’re traveling to Europe for two weeks this fall for our first anniversary/honeymoon trip.  We’re visiting London, Cardiff, Exeter, Paris, and Amsterdam.

But since you’re from London your bucket list cities are probably different.  The US dollar is weak right now so a trip here to the States would likely be an option where you get a lot of bang for your buck.

My in-laws recently traveled to Austrailia and loved it.

We’re spending half of our time in Dubai and the other half in an overwater bungalow in the Maldives. I’m beside myself with excitement!

We’re going for about a week and a half. My FI started a new job with less vacation time so we’re making the best of it!

PenguinLove:  We’re going to Berlin for 9 nights! I’m super excited, I’ve never been, and FFIL gave us some money towards it so we could get a cushy suite!

The decision was really hard and we went all round the place trying to decide where to go. We were limited by budget, and also because of the time of year we had to decide what sort of holiday we wanted – we’d have to pay more and go further if we wanted a sunshiney honeymoon, whilst other places nearby were cheaper.

We came to the conclusion that if we just went on a beach holiday we’d get thoroughly fed up with each other, and also the Canary Islands all seemed to be surprisingly expensive, and all the beds were twins pushed together rather than actual double beds in the hotels we could afford! There’s going to be loads for us to do in Berlin though, and we can fly from our local airport too, which is a definite bonus, because most of the other ones wanted us to fly from London, which adds that extra bit of expense.

FI and I are going to Mountain Resort in Montana! We love it there 🙂 8 Hour drive from where we live in Canada! FI has a new job, so ontop of all the wedding bills we didnt think it would be practical to go somewhere tropical at the moment!

UK bee here too, we went to Turkey. Not at all what I would have imagined at the start but we were looking for sandy beaches, somewhere relatively unknown (ie not France or Spain) and in a private villa with pool. We were planning to do nothing for 2 weeks so didn’t want a place we really wanted to visit. We narrowed down our choices by the villas available and ended up in South Turkey, opposite Rhodes. The villa was beautiful and the area was fascinating – we spent much more time doing stuff than expected but loved every second of it. Would certainly recommend the country, friendly people, inexpensive and delicious food, history, beaches, great weather…August was a bit hot though.

We are going to Samana, Dominican Republic!! Been once before on a vacation and this time around staying at a gorgeous resort. Cant’ wait! It’s not as busy and touristy as a lot of the other Carribean hot spots so looking forward to some quiet downtime and gorgeous weather!

Mine is being spaced out but I think it will be better because of it. Getting married in November and going to punta Cana in March. Then disneyworld in September. Took a spaced out one due to holidays and our vacation time starts over then. Also my wedding is a DW so that’s another vacation out of it. Yay.

PenguinLove:  We are American but live in Europe so we’ve traveled quite extensively. My all time favorite place was the Canary Islands. We flew Ryan Air and rented a house (homeaway.co.uk) for about 1000 pounds for the week. It was a HUGE house with a private pool and jacuzzi. We have very fond memories there and I’m desperately trying to convince DH to go there again this summer.
