It seems like everyone (at least down where I live) registers at Target.  Maybe JC Penny's  but usually 90% of the time it's Target.. I like Target, But I am not crazy about the place.  Where are you registering?

Well, I've been indecisive. We're sticking with Macy's and Bed Bath and Beyond, but...

we've opened registries at: Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, Belk, myregistry.com, Target, and I cant remember where else...

I definitely think it's all about what you and your FI want. We are registering at three different stores because we couldn't decide on just one- so we're doing Ikea (we LOVE Ikea =) West Elm (my favorite home store) and Macy's. Each store has very different price points so we can accomodate all of our guests. Maybe your guests will be happy they don't have to shop at another Target! =)

We spent a long time thinking about it and even opened registries and then had to delete them when they didn't turn out as hoped.  We currently have registries at Target, Macys and Amazon.  We fought the Target one for a long time, but then we realized that it was probably the best store for people on FIs side of the family.

bb&b and target. i'm sure you heard bad things about target and i'll give you mine. i registered there b/c they have inexpensive items. their stuff goes out of stuck or temporarily out of stock often, so you have to keep up with it to switch it out. if it's out of stock, it won't show the item, it just says that you have an item that's out of stock so you just have to go through your registry and just kind of hope that you remember what's missing. and their return policy sucks. people give you duplicates of things, they wont give you reciepts, and then you're stuck.

I've heard bad things about target too, and have personally experienced what a pain it is to return.  We're registering at Bed Bath and Beyond and Macy's.

We already have everything we need, so we are probably only going to do a honeymoon registry.

We did BB&B, Crate&Barrel and Williams-Sonoma. Yeah, there's overlap (especially re: Williams-Sonoma), but I really loved the linens at C&B and he loves W-S, so..... shop where you would shop if you had a choice. If you don't like Target, don't feel pressured to register there. We did BB&B for the basic, less expensive stuff and no one is having any trouble w/ it so far.

I think JCPenney and Bed Bath & Beyond. Kohl's is nice too because guests can use their coupons which are sometimes up to 30% off your whole order, with no exclusions.

We'll register at Bed Bath and Beyond, and Macy's along with a honeymoon registry. We moved in together a few months ago and combined all of our stuff - he had a lot of hand-me-downs and I had newer stuff.

@marcam how did you register at IKEA? The best I could figure was setting a registry up on myregistry.com for anything you could purchase online at IKEA, but that was all.. we've decided to not go with that, though.

We're registering at Macy's and BBB... and also doing a wishpot or Amazon registry for some odds and ends.

@oracle -- BBB does cash returns?  Sweet!

We're doing Crate and Barrel for kitchenwares, Macy's for china and a registry at myregistry.com so we can have tons of vintage stuff, Etsy stuff and the Pottery Barn towels I'm obsessed with.  I think it is a great way not to be limited and since everyone will probably visit our wedding website anyway, I figure its just as easy as the stores.

We're registered at Macy's & Target but now I'm paranoid about Target!  I had no idea they had such an annoying return policy=(

We decided to do a few different registries to include all price points. We've lived together for almost 3 years now, so we have almost everything. We've decided to only register for a really nice set of pots and pan, serving dishes and china, so we'll probably do Macy's. Target and Bed Bath & Beyond. FI wants to register for the honeymoon, IDK how I feel about this.

We have registered at Kohls and Target.  We ended up taking a ton of stuff off of Kohl's because the same exact thing was way cheaper at Target.

We're doing a local fine china place (Scully & Scully), Crate & Barrel, and Simon Pearce (a chain glass-blowing/pottery store - that gives you a free trip to either VT or PA when you register!).  I'm afraid we're too off-the-beaten track, but I really like unique glass & dishes.  sigh.
