All I can say is Filene's Basement! If you go to their website they list dates for Running of the Brides in their stores all across the US. If you have some time before your wedding chances are you will find a sale near you. I live in Michigan and drove to Ohio for a sale. I walked out the door with my dress for $265. You can find amazing deals on designer dresses. It is so much fun. If you haven't read up on it at all I would definitely recommend it. Good luck with your search!!!
Definitely Filene's Basement - I got mine for $250 and they had other amazing dresses even Romona Keveza and famous brands. here's mine at the event when I was still decided lol!

I recommend Alfred Angelo. My dress is gorgeous and everything (dress, veil, headband, alterations) was under $1000.

I would suggest you shop NOW...my daughter and I were 'play shopping' on Monday...went to about 5 stores..tried on lots of stuff and then stopped at a very expensive shop. She tried on a dress totally unlike anything she had tried on before and ...we both started to cry. We knew it was it...We have not even looked at the price tag. When we did..it was 80% OFF...80% off.
They explained they are getting new stock in September and closing out the current stock...the dress fit almost perfect. There will be minor alterations and it is beautiful and really inexpensive.
Shop the sales in July and August.

Any suggestions of stores in southern CT that sell reasonably priced (ideally less than $1000) yet NOT cheap-looking wedding dresses? Where can I find information about local sample sales or trunk shows? Just starting my search and feeling a bit overwhelmed...
