@As_You_Wish:  Petunia Pickle Bottom- I don’t have our backpack bag anymore- but it’s worth every single penny- I promise.  You baby bag is a staple, so it’s definitely worth getting a good one.

They are PVC- free glazed on the outside (they never get dirty!), the liner is awesome, they are thoughfully designed- and you can wear as backpack OR crossbody.  When we have baby #2 I will definutely get another Boxy!!

@As_You_Wish:  You can find them gently used on EBay for reasonable, also you can sometimes find stores that ahve sales online.  Laylagrace.com might have some patterns on sale right now.

They are expensive- the whole reason I found them in the first place was because my dad and stepmom got me one as a gift- and they said- your baby bag is a staple! you should have a nice one!!

I know some people don’t have a lot of extra money- but I will tell you it’s worth every penny.  I still own a Touring Tote by PPB that I use as a purse, I have a Power Room case and a Train Case, too- they are quality and solid.  I still own my original bag that was a gift- it’s the Shoulder Bag, but I am not sure they offer those anymore!  I will never sell that one.

The bags ARE baby bags, but I have use them for myself, too.  I think I have owned a total of over 20 bags- and they have excellent resell value if you take good care of them (one I sold for more on EBay than I bought it for because I got it on sale- and the bids went that high!!)–I’ve never been disappointed by any of thier bags + plan on purchasing one of thier handbags soon!

You could just get a regular backpack. Most of them have bottle holders and tons of pockets for things.

I haven’t gotten it yet, but we’re looking to get one of the DadGear backpacks.  I just figure I’ll keep that one and a more purse-like one stocked at all times, and that can be used by DH or if we go on trips, whereas the satchel can be my everyday bag.  They’re also in that $100 range, but they have great reviews and are gender-neutral (for you or other adults).

Uh, any place that sells backpacks? It does not need to be a specially designated diaper bag! Think about it – a Hello Kitty Backpack would be adorable if baby is a girl and a Spiderman if baby is a boy.

@As_You_Wish:  I’ve actually seen quite a few backpack style bags when I’ve been to Ross and TJ Maxx lately. I know Amazon has a bunch as well!

@As_You_Wish:  The large Landsend backpacks hold a lot. A friend of mine in high school put so much stuff in hers, it probably weighed about 30lbs. You could get little cosmetic bags to seperate the different things.

Theres also some on etsy, but most are tote style. The backpack ones tend to be smaller, I guess for more toddler age babies that dont need as much as an infant.

@As_You_Wish:  Thyme maternity is sending me one near my EDD because I signed up in-store and I think the Nestle baby samples come in one around then too 🙂 Check them out! Free!

I bought the So Young Charlie Bag.  It can be worn messenger style or backpack style and doesn’t look super cutesy (something I wanted to avoid). I got it on a really good sale and I think I saw it pop up on Gilt the other day for cheap.  It’s pretty spacious inside without looking gigantic.
