Any ideas bees?!
Any ideas bees?!
I highly recommend Jeweler’s Mutual.
commenting to follow post. I’m going to be looking for it soon too! =)
I have my ring insured through my renter’s insruance. Very reasonable and great coverage.
We did Jeweler’s Mutual as well. It was super easy and very affordable.
My FI has my ring insured through the same company as home home owners insurance. You can bundle your renters/car insurance and add it to that.
You can get it insured through your home/renters insurance. They just need an appraisal to do that!
i just got mine through Jewelers Mutual. My ring was appraised at $19k and my payment for the years is about $320 with no deductible.
Just add a rider to your homeowner’s/renter’s. That’s the easiest thing to do.
Riders insurance on home or rental. Typical rate is about $10 per $1000 of appraised value.
sounds good! Thanks bees!
@soontobemrsm11: For your follow up!! So we just got e ring appraised and my FI called his Home Owners insurance to add it on to that, do they quoted us a deductible of like 150-250. So I was like, Jewelers mutual offers a non deductible version for $12 more than the HOs quote a year. So he called back his home owners and told them JMs deal, and they honored the no deductible, and we get to pay $2.00 less a year than the HOs orginal quote:) apparently whatever could possibly happen to your ring or the main diamond, they’ll replace it. A woman had a tiny fissure in her supposed 11,000 diamomd, that people missed, and her diamond eventually split in half. So they replaced the entire ring for her!
@Whitwhit1689: That’s awesome! I’m glad they honored it. I guess I’ll have to try the same tactic when the time comes =) Did you have the appraisal done through an independent person or did the HO have a list of people you could use? I’m worried about the appraisal process because I’ve heard it’s usually appraised higher than what you paid for it which honestly I don’t quite get because just like anything else, markup on erings is crazy!
@soontobemrsm11: I had my appraisal done @ Direct Diamond, the Richmond Va store is called the Right Diamond. Probably one of the best jewelry stores on the planet bc they don’t have the mark up normal jewelry stores have. They have their own diamond mines and don’t have any major over head to pay. You can get it done at any reputable jewelry store, some make you pay for the appraisal, right diamond didnt have a fee. And the appraisals are high just to make sure if you’re in an area that has only one mom and pop store with super high markup, you can replace your ring. Appraisals are top retail price plus 20I on average. Does that help?
