I’m with you on this one.  This situation is driving me nuts.  I’m looking for a 14 in. cake stand.  The only ones I have found have been sterling silver ones online that cost a fortune.  I just want an acrylic one that I can throw away.

Maybe try eBay? I’ve heard people finding great cake stands on there.

ali – you don’t have to have one necessarily.

your baker will sometimes loan you one from their shop.  mine would have but they were all spoken for our wedding weekend.

if you really don’t want to use a stand, your cake should come on a wrapped plate like the ones shown with mine.  you can just set that right on the table.

another option is to wrap a box in fabric and set that wrapped plate on top of that.

hth!

Williams Sonoma has a 14 inch cakestand. I haven’t seen any bigger than that in regular stores, but I’ll keep an eye out!

Home Goods, TJ Maxx and Marshalls tend to have random housewares and Iäve seen some pretty and affordable cake stands at various times, maybe you will get lucky.
