I’m looking for a cheap gold setting for my stand in ring. I work as a bartender so there no way that I’m going to wear my actual engagement ring to work but I want something that will hold up and look good.
I’m going to buy a loose cz stone and hopefully have it set in a simple solitaire band. I have seen a few nice ones (James Allen for example) but you can only purchase those with a diamond.

You can probably buy one from eBay from a shop like Leibcor. I set a sterling solitaire from there for fun a while back.
If you want someting much cheaper that’s sterling silver rather than gold, you can try Berricle.com. I bought a stand-in solitaire from there that’s held up pretty well after a year. I bought mine for about $35 or so.
How much are you wanting to spend on the setting? That might help others steer you in the right direction.

If you want gold, this is about as cheap as you will get. From what I’ve heard, it is good quality too.

I bought my setting from American Set and it was seriously so well priced and beautiful. real quality!! PM me if you want more details 😀
here is a picture of my white gold setting with pave diamonds.

@SoonTooBee: honestly, it will probably be cheaper to buy the whole ring with cz instead of buying the setting and cz stone separately and then paying to have it set.
years ago i got a stunning ring on ebay for $10. i’m not joking and it was rodium plated with a lab created diamond and looked amazing. not cheap looking at all.
i will try to find the ebay store for you.

What you are looking for is called a semi-mount. It means the setting without a center stone.
There is no such thing as cheap gold. I would get a sterling silver/cz ring (if you really want it to be cheap). We just had a thread about cheap stand-ins yesterday, so I will repeat my recommendations of Amazon and Berricle. Good luck!
Check it out. Gold is $1,386.25/oz as of this moment. http://www.goldpriceoz.com/gold-price-per-ounce/

@Mokara: The one I saw on James Allen was 180.00 (below); ideally less than that but if I could have purchased that one with no center stone I probably would have. I’d like to stay around or under 100.00 if possible

@missebelle: I just checked them out and your right; they have settings for around the $100.00 mark and can be made to accommodate any shape/size center stone. Thanks!

@SoonTooBee: they were super easy to work with. i had them customize my band and they did it for free. they are super quick to communicate as well! good luck 🙂 shipping was also fast which is a huge plus!

Maybe check out Wal-mart and Target jewellery sections. They sometimes have cheap gold cz bands and sometimes even on sale.

@SoonTooBee: I think James Allen sells some of the settings alone.
