I know Hobby Lobby has all kinds of things you can use...from wooden boxes to heavy paper boxes, to hat boxes....just try a craft store
Also check out your local TJ Maxx or Marshalls. They always have a lot of boxes and hat boxes that would be a good size for a card box. And if the boxes have ugly designs on the outside (which they usually do) you can either paint or decoupage over them.
Does hobby lobby have an online store? I don't have one near me. I have checked michaels and AC Moore and haven't found any to be big enough if they have any at all. I didn't think of TJ's or Marshalls.. I will def check them out. Thanks!
I was going to purchase a box at the craft store, but when gifts started to come in, I ended up using a big, square, white box (with a lid!) from Crate and Barrell. It worked perfectly :) The Crate and Barrell boxes are really good quality (nice and thick unlike the Macy's large square boxes...and plain...no logos or anytning b/c the ribbon with their logo can just be removed).
My other option was to use a large square box from the Coach store, but it is brown and has their logo so I would have to wrap it with really thick paper to decorate.
I would try Nordstrom...their handbag department...they have large square boxes (but again, not plain white and has a logo).
GOOD LUCK!
I am planning on decorating/painting/covering so logo's are fine. Thanks a bunch!!!
Hi! I found my box at Ross and used fabric to cover it--only 7.99! But, i would also check out Ikea--I found a perfect box for my programs and they have tons of options--I also used them for decor like river rocks and thigns like that. They're a good option when you can't find stuff at Michael's or Joann's--you never know what you could use!
Check out some of these at Container Store -- they have quite a few and some of them are already kind of cool looking so they might not need too much work, depending on your colors and decor.
Try a dollar store too - I found some nice sized boxes with lids and if you are decorating anyway, it doesn't matter what it looks like.

I want to make my own cardbox and am having the hardest time finding a box that is 1) Big enough, 2) not HUGE 3) has a lid... I was thinking of using a hat box but I can't find them anywhere and online you have to order a case. I only want 1! Anyone know of a secret website that will sell me 1 or a store where i can find this at?
