hi all! we are planning to get married over july 4th weekend hopefully in the healdsburg area. i realize that’s only a few months away. we are only planning to have about 20 people, mostly family. we just want a low key ceremony (maybe outdoors?) with dinner at perhaps a restaurant afterwards. no dj or bridesmaids/groomsmen. we decided that instead of having a grand wedding, we’d rather have a grand honeymoon to europe. i tried looking at elopement packages because that is something along the lines of what we want, but they usually only cater to a few guests at most. any ideas? thanks!

I’m from Healdsburg but am searching more in the guerneville area because it is pretty and more affordable. With that said, I would check out the picnic area in riverfront regional park, very beautiful spot there with redwoods. With a smaller group it would be nice and very affordable if you don’t mind not having amplified music. Here is a wedding that was done there:
Check out the town of Monte Rio, about 25 minutes from Healdsburg. The highlanddell would be a venue I would definitely consider if I was doing a smaller wedding. Here is a video:http://vimeo.com/tag:highland+dell+lodge
Also, in Cazadero I have looked into a cool spot for a ceremony: St. Coleman’s outdoor chapel. It is $350 to rent. You would have to find a spot for your reception. Cazsonoma Inn is near by. Here is a wedding that was done at the outdoor chapel and then the reception was in the Highlanddell:http://www.aliciaoblander.com/susanian.html
For Info on the chapel call Bette Campbell 707-632-5654. It is located on 5695 Cazadero Hwy. I have gone out to see it a couple of times, no apt necessary. It really is so beautiful, however, since I am planning my wedding for 150 people the parking is not sufficient.
I hope that helps!

I’d check out the local restaurants or boutique hotels for your wedding. That’s a huge weekend in Sonoma County, but the restaurants might be slower because of the bbqing and camping that will be happening everywhere.
