@ylapis:  Do you want knee-length or floor-length dresses?  If you don’t mind knee-length, Dress Barn actually has some really nice special occasion dresses for $40-60 dollars that would work well as bridesmaid dresses.  I bought my bridesmaid dresses from Dress Barn for $46 each.

@ylapis:  My BM got their dresses at Alfred Angelo – after discounts, their short BM dresses cost about $130 each (before alterations):

I used Modcloth! I had one girl go to unique vintage… But all my dresses are mismatched. Modcloth is still a good bet if youwant matching though 🙂

Also try j.crew, jcpenny, and if you get really creative look on Polyvore 🙂

Mine all live in state, so we got them at a bridal salon.

But if they live out of state, you can pick a designer and have them look at their respective bridal salons. There are certain designers that bridal salons around the country carry.

My BMs bought theirs from J. Crew and Nordstrom – they wore knee-length silk chiffon dresses in a few different colors (blush, grey, and sage green). Since those are both national chains they had no problem finding dresses that coordinated and had lots of selection. Most of them bought their J. Crew dresses from online sales or off eBay – there’s tons of gorgeous once-worn bridesmaid dresses on eBay for a fraction of the original price!

ETA: Here’s all of their dresses together:

My BM dresses are from J Crew, but I’d also suggest checking out Weddington Way.  They have a cool feature where you can put together a virtual showroom and your BMs can comment and ‘like’ dresses so you can get theit feedback and thoughts.  I think you can also pay a small amount (I don’t remember the specifics off the top of my head), and they’ll ship out a dress for your BMs to try on so they know what size to order.

Try http://www.bellabridesmaids.com/ They have stores all over the country and numerous designers.  I am going with Amsale (www.amsale.com/bridesmaids).  I am getting my bridesmaid dresses out of one of the stores here in Connecticut and sent my MOH and another bridesmaid to their local store in Los Angeles for a complimentary fitting and try-on.  If you do this just make sure you order the dresses from one place so they come from the same dye lot.  Happy Hunting!

My girls got theirs at Alfred Angelo.  They were all spread all over the country, so it was easy for them to go to their local stores for alterations.  We had floor length gowns that cost around $190

My girls bought their dresses at the same shop where I bought my dress. They got a 20% discount because I got my dress there, too. 🙂

@ylapis:  Alfred Angelo is where ours are from. They have lots of locations and their dresses are affordable without having to put your maids through the Hell that is David’s Bridal. We have one-shoulder floor-length chiffon dresses and they were $190.
