Our couch came from Ashley.  It’s not velvet, but a very soft cordoroy fabric.

The Brick, it is a good brand name (can’t remember, but we did our research) and it SUCKS. The cushions are attached to the couch, so after three years of constant wear, the stitching is ripping away from the actual couch. Also, the arms are overstuffed, but from the dog laying his head on one side, constantly, it has completely deflated. Considering we spent $2400 on the couch and loveseat, I’m a bit upset, to say the least.

@moonadea as ive posted on a few other threads here..im an interior designer and i currently work in a high end showroom in the design district here in dallas.. and ive had quite a bit of experience in the furniture world…

however, i would highly advise against places like ashleys/rooms to go/etc (im sorry if i have offended anyone by saying this) however..if you want something to last you a long time you might want to spend a little extra…otherwise if you don’t care about replacing a sofa in a couple years than you can go to those places…the construction just isnt the same

pottery barn & west elm are the same company and have pretty good construction in comparison…also check out a company called io-metro..they dont have any in atlanta proper but they do have a few in the suburbs..i also suggest crate & barrel/cb2 depending on your personal aesthetic. anyways..feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions 😉

also performance velvet is basically the same composition as micro suede it just has a different texture. it will perform the same way. micro fiber can take on many textures such as velvet, suede, and even leather. they are easy to clean and if you spill any liquids on them it will just bead right on top of the fabric.

We’re had really good luck with Macy’s, if you can find a location that has a decently large selection (varys by area).

I LOVE the velvet sofa we got, and its easy to care for like microfiber. I do think it’s “glam”… Don’t know if you meant that was or wasn’t the style you wanted.

@moonadea:  We got a Chocolate Corduroy Sofa & Loveseat set from the Raymour & Flanigan Clearance Outlet.

It’s been awesome for the past 2+years we’ve had it.
