I bought mine a small independent bridal salon.  I had the skirt changed from the original design.  Because I can’t resist posting a picture, here it is:

Local bridal salon for me. I had a great experience there and had all my alterations done. They also cleaned it for free when it was stained pre-wedding.

I voted none of the above – my dress is being custom designed and made for me by a seamstress I found on Etsy!  I had previously bought a Renaissance costume from her (which I loved) and I knew that she also did custom work so when I got engaged I asked her to do my wedding dress too.  It’s been fun working with her so far to pick out fabrics, figure out style elements and such.  I can’t wait for it to be done!

Local bridal salon. I had shopped around online before I went to try on dresses though, so I knew I was getting a great price.

I ordered my gown from a bridal salon in my area.  I liked knowing that I would have access to a very experienced seamstress to perform my alterations.

@misskittykakes:  Your dress is beautiful and looks awesome on  you!

@MrsPaulsBabyBallerina:  You look absolutely gorgeous! I love your gown!!

I bought my vintage 1970’s dress on Ebay from a bridal salon (sallies_bridal) that sells some of their dresses on Ebay. It’s brand new and has never been worn other than being tried on.

It was $50 and retailed for $400 when it was for sale in the 70’s.

BTW, you have such a pretty dress! It fits you beautifully!

A bridal salon – a great experience compared to the one I had earlier in the day. I got what I asked for not what they thought I’d look good in. Meruange dresses don’t look good on 5 foot brides!

I found mine on Ebay, brand new which was being custom made to fit in China. Scared at first but what a bargain!. It has arrived exactly like the picture. I couldn’t be happier. It fits perfectly.
