I am having a terrible time finding headbands I like! I am pretty sure I want to wear a headband with my dress, but I really can’t find many places that have what I’m looking for. Ideally I want:
1- rhinestones, not clear beads and not pearls (I’ll post a pic of the top of my dress… kind of want it to match the stones there)
2- on an actual metal headband, not a ribbon (I feel like the ribbon ones are not secure at all and will slip)
3- at least 1/2″ wide all the way across (Most are like super thin headbands with a brooch. I just want a pretty headband).
You wouldn’t think this would be so hard! Etsy has nothing that I found. David’s bridal, nada. My dress shop had one I kind of liked but it was super thin, like maybe 1/4″ and I was hoping to find something a little wider. Here is the top of my dress (I’m sorry it is sideways):

I was in the same boat you are! I ended up buying a plain metal headband I liked for like $6 at a little boutique, and then I just bought crystals and glued them on my headband! It cost probably $20 for everything and only took like an hour to put all the crystals on it!

I sort of thought the same thing about the ribbon headbands, but they were actually really, really secure. I purchased one from http://www.weddingfactorydirect.com for around $40. My dress store had a very similar one for $99.
I’m not going to wear it, but only because the coloring was a little off. That’s another story though.

I’m considering a headband and I tried this on in a store. It’s not on a ribbon or a metal headband, but it attached to an elastic black band. Think more of the bands that girls wear during sports. It was really comfortable since the metal headbands make my head hurt.
Here is a pic of the headband on me… sorry you can’t see it that well.

I bought mine from a Bridal Boutique in Fort Wayne IN, http://www.thebridetobeonline.com/ The owner Sarah makes headbands and jewlery and sells it there and has others as well (link below). I wish I had a pic to include but I ordered ones she makes so I haven’t recieved it yet but they are gorgeous. I got a headband she designed and a custom bracelet to match. They had prob 10-15 headbands on display and only one was on a ribbon and most had just rhinstones and were pretty wide. Mine I ordered has rhinestones and pearls and is prob and inch wide. Not sure how much you want to spend, but my headband was around $200 and she offered to customize it at no extra charge and I didn’t even buy a dress there. I can post a pic when I get it, should be soon. Good luck!

Thanks girls! I don’t like the ones with elastic bc they always slip off my head (Maybe my head is too big? lol). I guess I could consider a ribbon one but then I’d have to have the hairdresser put it in and I couldn’t take it out. I was thinking about maybe just putting it in myself after the ceremony which is why a metal one would be a lot easier. 🙂
Also I should mention I am definitely looking at under $100 here… and under $50 would be ideal. Checking out your links now!
Anyone else with suggestions?

It’s ribbon but I purchased my headband from LottiedaDesigns on Esty (http://www.etsy.com/shop/lottiedadesigns). She was wonderful to work with and has a nice selection of crystal ribbon bands. I understand about the ribbon not staying, but my hairdresser put mine in for me and it stayed all night!

I got my crystal ribbon headband from etsy, seller luciabella. Her work is exquisite and she was very prompt to questions and getting it to me. I highly recommend her! Here’s mine-
