I'm debating whether to rent or buy my jewelry (teardrop earrings and bracelet).

Where did you get your bridal jewelry?

I think I'm going to wear family jewelry. Key word is think. If not that, then buy. :)

My mother in law bought me a diamond necklace from Blue Nile.

For the ceremony, my friend let me borrow her expensive, fancy diamond earrings. I was paranoid about losing them so for the reception, I wore cheap chandelier earrings I bought at a local accessory store.

I'll either wear borrowed jewelry (my mom's pearls maybe) or buy costume jewelry to wear (from etsy).  I wouldn't invest in new "real" jewelry just for this, with how much we're already spending on everything else wedding related.  But if you have the budget, it would be nice to mark the occasion with some new pieces!

i'm borrowing a necklace and bracelet from my mom, and my grandma bought me new earrings (that actually came with a necklace, so after the wedding i'll have a nice set to wear).

I bought a necklace from overstock.com, and my earrings were just cheap from Claires. Personally, I like the idea of buying nice jewelry for the wedding because I think it would make a GREAT heirloom. A dress goes in and out of style, but a nice diamond pendant or pearl necklace or earrings don't really go out of style and they keep their value, if not go up, unlike the dress. A daughter of mine may not want my dress, but I think she'd be much more open to jewelry!

Another option: I already owned my galaxy pearl necklace (a gift from my husband a couple years before the wedding) and I was planning on wearing plain pearl stud earrings and on the day of the wedding my husband surprised me with pearl and diamond earrings I wore instead. I also wore my engagement ring (of course!) and my something borrowed was a friend's pearl and diamond ring.

Yeah, you definitely need a "borrowing" option. I think that is pretty popular! I may buy a bracelet but I am wearing my own necklace that FI me and the earrings my maid of honor wore on her wedding day.

I'll be buying a few pieces, probably nothing more than costume jewelry unless I can justify it!

I haven't decided yet, because I haven't bought my dress yet. But I know I won't be buying any fine jewelry. I just like costume jewelry better. I will probably buy some of it from Etsy, but hey, if I find a cute necklace for $6 at F21 that goes w/ my dress, I'll wear that!

I'm wearing things I already have mostly. My mum gave me a little diamond solitaire pendant for my 21st birthday, and I have both diamond and pearl studs that my fiance has given me in the past, so I'll wear one of those. I did buy some nice pearly dangly earrings from etsy but I don't think they'll look right with my headpiece now and the studs would be better.

For a bracelet, I went out to a vintage shop and found one that has clear and emerald-coloured stones. It has a real old, vintagy look to it, and it was really inexpensive!

Actually, I went out to get that bracelet on my own, and usually with wedding things someone else (my mum, his mum, bridesmaids) is with me, so it was a nice, peaceful change to take my time over looking and have some 'me' time!

If I didn't already have the necklace I'd definitely go looking on etsy.

We bought all of mine on eBay.  NotFroofy bought her necklace, but borrowed earrings from a friend.

We'll have to buy my earrings since I'm wearing chandelier style, and I'm sure I'll borrow pearl bracelets from my mom. I'm keeping my jewely super paired down.

I work at Kohl's, so I get an associate discount, plus we have associate shop days where we get extra discounts.  PLUS, I have a Kohl's Charge, and we can use our Pick-A-Day coupons on top of the other discounts.  So I bought most of my jewelry there: a pair of pearl studs, a pearl necklace that's a strand of small pearls with a little silver heart in front, and my bracelet, (also a pearl strand), was a gift, but it came from Kohl's.  I bought my Bridesmaids pearl sets from there, too, (a single strand necklace with matching earrings and bracelet).  My enagagment ring/wedding band were from Jared.  My "Something Borrowed" was a pearl ring from my now-SIL.

I thought about borrowing something of my mom's but luckily, I ended up getting a necklace & earrings from my fiance for Christmas.  We looked for styles that would look nice with my dress before the holidays and decided on a pair of briolette cut crystal drop earrings with a matching necklace.  Now I just take them out & look at them every so often... I don't plan on wearing them until the big day to make it even more special!

I'm wearing the antiques from the family, they get passed down to each new bride. But my mom is also getting me a brand new pearl necklace for the occasion. If it were up to my $$ alone I wouldn't wear a pearl necklace but I can't say no to an awesome present.

I'll either borrow or wear stuff I already have. Of course, I wouldn't be opposed to a necklace or earrings as a wedding gift from the SO. Clap if you believe in frugality!

I bought some stuff when I got married and never wore it again  - in fact, I'm pretty sure my sister wears it now to parties (Damn you Jenny!). You can rent your diamonds now too which I would have totally done if I knew about it.
