Did you have ones that "match" your invitations, or something different?  I really don't know how this save-the-date business works.

I am using TwoYellowShoes off of etsy and she was also featured in Brides' magazine and on Stylemepretty. She designed an awesome std suite for me and our monogram/logo!

honestly - I created my own STD's in photoshop! I looked on magnetstreet.com (which is a great place to look) and found a few ideas/designs I liked and created my own in photoshop. Then I went to CVS and printed them off as 4x6 photos and put them inside christmas cards and sent them all out that way.

    here's what ours looked like:

course, we have had a few people ask "omg you have kids?" um no - those pics are of the two of us from when WE were kids! lol

Where Did You Get Your Save-The-Dates? : wedding save the dates 1 Savethedate Child Wb

I also did the same for our invites - I created our invite from a design idea I found on magnet street - in photoshop, printed them at CVS and voila!

my STD's cost a little under $20 to print off 100 and same with my invites!

I used A Giftful Heart (www.agiftfulheart.com) and would definitely recommend them.  Mine didn't match my invitations, they were a lot more fun than what my invites will be!

I used a DIY template at weddingchicks.com and personalised it. Printed it onto the home printer.

We did post cards from Vistaprint.com. It only cost about $20! They are not really matching out invitation style, but the colors are similar.

I did ours completely freehand, using a watercolor drawing that a close college friend was kind enough to paint for us, scanned into Powerpoint to add the text. I picked out fonts from a few different free websites until I found one we liked, then printed them on nice cream-colored paper from Paper Source, and stuck them onto wine-colored cardstock backing. Our colors are wine, ivory and chocolate brown. I had made the STDs to the size of the standard RSVP envelopes from Paper Source that match the paper from the main part of the STD. Then I stuck a strip of adhesive magnetic tape onto the back of each STD, cut out envelope liners in some really awesome brown and white floral-patterned paper from Paper Source and stuck those to the envelopes with double-sided tape, and used zots to attach some tiny fabric wine- or pink- colored flowers to the STD and one on the envelope, just under the flap, where it shows right when you open the envelope.

Ours don't exactly match the invitations, but they come close in that they're both primarily wine-colored with cream for the paper itself and brown accents. Also, the paper we used to line the STD envelopes will also line the invitation envelopes and serve as the paper for the invitations' belly bands.

I also got mine at magnetstreet.com and they just came in last week.  At this point, I plan to DIY my invitations and programs.  The design I chose for the save-the-dates is pretty simple, so just about any invitation style in the same colors will "match" closely enough.

Our STDs were a DIY trailer DVD, so they definitely do NOT "match" our invitations (since these will be paper).  I think you can feel free to match or not match as you wish.  No "requirements" or expected Etiquette about that part of it.

    Good Luck!

My STDs did not match my invitations.  I got the STDs from Wedding Paper Divas, and the invitations from Papeterie.  I thought their prices were comparable, but I liked the quality of Papeterie better.

I got mine from Jeanm.com..you may need to link to their website from their facebook page for the deal..but the deal is 100 FREE save the dates (there are about 8 cute designs to choose from) plus shipping= $12... they came out great and a great deal! I will be getting my invites from vista print, they are no frills but still very nice, but very inexpensive and I don't have to mess with diying them. Vista will send you a free sampling of their invites and save the dates..very nice!

I say get creative with your save the dates! They don't have to match the color, season, or even style of your wedding. I'm having a formal summer wedding in sage and ivory colors, and my STD was a postcard in very fall-like colors of purple and green. We used a pic from our engagement session and I photoshoped the image to make it look like the cover of a local bridal magazine that fellow DC brides love. See below!

We used MagnetStreet as well. I just ordered them the other day. They don't "match" my invitations, but they are the same color scheme, so it's a bit coordinated.

@ Ms Caniche- I just ordered my STD's last week and I used the same template with different colors!

We got our save the dates from http://www.savethedatemagnet.com/ and they were great!  We actually got someone else's shipped to us first, but we called and they had the correct ones overnighted, free of charge.  I'd recomend them, oh...and our invitations are not going to match, they'll be more formal.

We went the DIY route, and printed a cute photo that went inside Christmas cards.  the photos were printed at Walmart, and we bought the cards there too, so I guess you could say our STDs are from Walmart :P

Simple, but fun!  They don't really match our invites, which are a custom design featuring an illustration of the two of us, and lots and lots of butterflies.

Mine are from Vista Print.  I had  so much fun designing them!

They will not match my invitations in color or theme, which I haven't decided on yet.  There are so many fun colors and ideas out there it seemed absurd to limit myself to a "brand."  I read a serious article in a wedding magazine about "branding" your wedding and how you have to market your event as if you were a corporation with an eye to the target audience, competition, etc.  Apparently you need to have a logo as well as a color and theme and start with the save the dates...

Where is the fun in that??
