Macy’s Bridal Salon in downtown Chicago. I would’ve liked to give my business to an independent operation, but Macy’s had the dress I wanted! However, we were so happy w/the service we received at another store that we did go back and order the MOH and jr. bridesmaid dresses there. I was happy to be able to give them some business!

I went to Pronovias Flagship store in NYC.  As a plus size girl, I was afraid of the whole dress shopping experience since I knew that most samples wouldn’t fit.  I have always loved Pronovias dresses and since they had just opened the flagship store when I got engaged I made an appointment.  It was the best experience, champagne, a private room to try on dresses, silk robes (I was in wedding dress heaven).  The cherry on the pie was that pronovias flagship store carries two sample sizes!  5/6 and 14.  Although I still didn’t completely fit in the 14, I could get into it and and I was better able to see the dress on me.  The dresses were pricey but they do not charge for alterations!!!!  I know!  In the end I am getting my dress there and I love it.

I just purchased mine at the Running of the Brides in NYC two weekends ago.  I went after work and it was stress-free!  I found a beautiful dress for $250!

I found mine on craigslist – a beautiful Monique Lhuillier for only $700! And I got a crystal beaded belt from Preowned Wedding Dresses!

I went into Davids Bridal, knowing exactly what dress I wanted. Found it, tried it on, hated it!

While I was hanging it up, I spotted this dress across the room and knew it was the one for me! It was love at first sight!

    Thoughts?
