(Closed) Where did you look while you were walking down the aisle?

    CarolinaCola:   I seen all those people and instantly hated it lol. i looked down and was embarressed because i hate being the center too. and i didnt think there would be soo many people i could barly see my DH in the tiny church. i tried to look at him too but i got nervious at first. i looked down a lot cuz when i looked up i noticed i tensed my shoulders when i did. you can tell im nervious in my pictures. but in a cute way not a “im about to turn around way”. once i seen him, i stuck with him thinking thank god.

    I was looking at my husband the whole walk. During the ceremony I vividly remember his eyes, face and expressions. I also remember the minister, but never looked out at the guests. As far as I knew it was just my husband, the minister and myself out there in the field….everything else fell into the background for me. 🙂

    I thought a lot about this and wanted to lock eyes with DH (and am so glad I did!).  I honed in on DH and it was his reaction and his alone that I truely cared about (we didn’t have a first look).

    It wasn’t really freaky/scary at all (to have everyone there looking at me) – but it was distracting to hear people whisper about how I was getting teary eyes or hear cameras clicking…. 

    I’ve seen brides do it both ways – look around, or look straight ahead.  I don’t think there’s any wrong way to do it – but it helped me focus to know I was going to find DH and lock eyes! 🙂

    Both! I definitely enjoyed watching my husband get all teary-eyed as I came to meet him, but I also really loved seeing all our friends and family. One of our friends had just adopted a baby a week before the wedding and I totally waved and cooed at him when I went past them.

    I thought I would freak out if I saw the guests, but I didn’t at all. It was such an emotional day, and I was so caught up in it that nothing mattered other than getting married.

    So when I first walked around the corner I took in the whole scene, and I did glance over the guests at first. Then the bridesmaids, groomsmen, officiate, and then I was locked on DH for most of it. I never saw the photographer, and I didn’t look at any individual guests.

    I only looked at my husband. I was completely mesmerized and he was smiling so big! I think I may have looked around once and smiled at someone, but I have no idea who or where anyone was. It was all about him the minute I stepped out and headed down the aisle.

    I was all awkward and looked at the ground for the first half. Then I was like “oh duh!” and started looking up at the guests, which is fun because literally every single person is just beaming at you. Towards the front of the aisle, I saw my little ring bearer and winked at him and he smiled the biggest smile, which made me way less nervous.

    And THEN I finally looked at my poor groom and saw him there just grinning his face off – don’t forget to look at your guy, like I did, ladies!!

    (It’s weird how this is all totally burned into my memory!)

    I looked at my hubs and all our guests. I was so overwhelmed with our guests. We only had about 75 but I was so grateful everyone I loved was there. I really wanted to stop and say hi to people as I was walking down the aisle hahah

    CarolinaCola:  I was really nervous about walking down the aisle a tripping or something. But as soon as I saw my hubby, I just kept my eyes on him and I honestly don’t remember seeing anyone else.
