After looking at flower costs, we are looking into silk/artificial flowers. So, where did you find your artificial flowers? Would you recommend it?

I bought mine on ebay from the seller affordelegance. I would recommend them. I made all the flower arrangements myself so I became very familiar with the flowers.

I ordered mostly blue and white flowers and I had no problems. I do not recommend the silver flowers from them though because they arrived smushed.

Okay, I'll add another question. Do you prefer artificial or real and why? We are looking at both options.

I prefer real, but we're going with natural touch fakes. They'll last for ever and are about a QUARTER of the price of what I've been quoted for real flowers. I'm sorry,m but I refuse to pay so much money for something that's just going to die in less than a week. I may as well throw that money in the trash, cause that's exactly where those flowers will be in a few days! No thank you!

I am using artificial because I don't trust anyone to make them but myself, and I need to make them way ahead of time.  I'm very picky and I just couldn't handle not getting EXACTLY what I wanted on the day of the wedding.  I bought them at a wholesale silk flower place in Miami.

I just got a ton from Michaels.  They aren't bad quality.  Especially once the flowers are all bunched together in a bouquet you really can't tell.

I did artificials because, well, I saved over $1,000 (of my own hard earned money, not my moms) and I have really nasty allergies. Oh and flowers don't last in midwest heat very long! I only spent $200 on all the bouts, bouquets, etc and we had 6 attendants on each side. I bought them during a 50% sale at Michaels in jan.

We were going to go with silk flowers for a while, I even ordered some online to see how they looked thebridesbouquet.com had some beautiful options. Ultimately, I decided that flowers aren't that important to me so we're DIY-ing my bouquet and my attendants are carrying purses with small bouts on them. We're just ordering the flowers from Costco.

I am with all the other brides who can not see paying so much money for flowers that will die so soon... I mean honestly I just cant see spending hundreds of thousands on flowers i will enjoy for a few hours and then never see again

I bought all of my flowers from A local craft store called Ben Franklin.... I am using a combination of Real Touch roses and other types of flowers. Some of which are expensive high Quality and some of which are  cheap but are small and going to only act as fillers

I got ours from Bloomed to Last. Cymibidium orchids and day lilies. My MIL thought her corsage was real and put it in the fridge to keep it fresh for the wedding! LOL

I chose silk flowers as they were a fraction of the cost for real, would not wilt for my August wedding, I got them in advance so there were no unpleasant surprises. Plus my BMs wore hair flowers and I wore clip on orchids in my hair for the pig roast we had the day after the wedding. I was very satisfied with how everything looked and I have my bouquet forever!

I'm using a mix of real flowers and fabric.  The centerpieces and some altar decor will be real but the aisle, bout's, bouquets, and corsages will be made with fabric.  I don't have experience with silk but I thought my sister said it was actually more expensive than real.

I went to a wedding where the bride and groom choose to use fake flowers for the wedding and you really couldn't tell. Until the reception---when their centerpieces were made up of fake flowers. It looked really cheap and I thought it was kinda tacky.

I have to agree - if you are considering fake, go to Hobby Lobby and look at the True Touch.  I think silks look cheap - until I saw these.  You can't even tell the difference, and they feel real!  Just scent them, and no one will be able to tell.  If you get them half off, which they usually are, they are 2.50 for a rose and 1.50 for a rose bud.  They also have calla lilies and a few other types.

Originally, I thought I would need real, but I am very happy with these and the price!

i am thinking of using silks for the bouquets/bouts and real for the centerpieces...im using hydrangeas for the reception decor so they're not to expensive.  plus i want to do my own bouquets but dont want to be stressing about getting them done a couple days before the wedding since i will have a ton of family in town i will need to entertain!!

I am going the fake route and had my bouquets made by a fantastic artist on Etsy!  She does tons of bridal flowers and has tons of rave reviews!  She incorporates other fun stuff like feathers if you want too.  She is awesome!  I am super excited to be able to put my bouquet in a vase after the wedding and have it in my house!

im using fake flowers because real flowers are just too expensive for our budget. i got the flowers for my bouquet at micheals. they were having a big sale on all fake flowers. they were 50% off. i got everything for my bouquet for under $50. my neighbor and i just took our time looking through all the flowers. we got very picky about them and ended up with some good ones! they even had the rhinestone embellishments for the flowers and for the stems.

I am using real flowers...Im not having many in our wedding just the bouquets and the boutineers so its just easier.  Plus the flowers I want to use (orchids) are pricey real or artificial.  I have heard of a lot of people using Hobby Lobby...as a Californian there isn't any stores here but I just found out they started selling online on Jan. 1st been to the site to look at their stuff and prices are really good.  Check them out!
