I wasn't planning on doing any registries because I am 42 and have a lot of stuff one might register for and because ppl told me if I don't ppl will give money.EmbarassedCool

but I'm thinking I should regester for my bridal shower. I mean it stands for showering with gifts. Right?

I'm glad you posted this! I was just thinking of making a topic for this a few minutes ago!

I want to know where and why.... why was the place you chose the best?

I am registering on Amazon.com for my shower. It was recommended by a few people so I thought I would try it.

We registered at Bed, Bath and Beyond and Target. If you don't need a lot of the typical
start-up items I would recommend a place like Target or Macy's where they have random things that you wouldn't necessarily buy for yourself but can appreciate getting as a gift.

We registered at Crate and Barrel. Mostly because it's our taste and style.

Macy's, Sur la Table, and Williams-Sonoma, and all but 2 gifts came from Macy's at my shower.

It's always fun to do a small registry if you want to upgrade some stuff around the house. With Amazon, you can actually do a universal registry. I love it for adding handmade unique stuff from Etsy! Also, if you're going on a honeymoon, you might consider a honeymoon registry like the one we're doing with Honeymoon Pixie. We've got the basics of our honeymoon covered, but guests can buy us cocktails on the beach or a room upgrade or things like that!

BB&B, Macys and MAYBE target. Quality items that are worth the prices, also have some deals.

@luvmyDwight:  This will backfire on you.

People either want to give a gift or they want to give money. Taking away options on your registry for people who are dead-set to give gifts will just force them to go rogue (and you get something you dont want) instead of giving you cash!

We registered at four places to give our guests a variety of options, price points, tastes, etc.

    • Bed Bath and Beyond
    • Macy's
    • Crate & Barrel
    • Sears (some tools for my husband)

Bed Bath and Beyond and Target. BB&B was amazing, very easy with returns (my shower was on Saturday and I had $600 worth of returns) plus they have good rewards with cookware. I got my Calphalon pots for $450 and got a free sautée pan and $50 gift card. Also you get a completion coupon for anything left on your registry after the wedding.

Target sucked (had to register there because some shower guests didn't have BB&B near them). Horrible quality and realllly annoying with returns. We got close to $500 in gift cards there so now we have to spend it on a tv because everything there sucks.

We've registered at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, Macy's, and Target. BBB has, by far, been my favorite place. We spent two days registering there, and the sales associates were really nice. They weren't pushy at all, they would check in with us and ask if we wanted water or if they could hold our coats and things for us. If we had questions about certain things, they had some very knowledgeable people to answer questions.

Target has been somewhat of a pain. Things have disappeared off our registry, or extras have been added. However, they had some variety that neither Macy's or BBB could offer.

Macy's has been fine, but not a lot of people have been shopping that registry. I do like them for their registry rewards program. However, we didn't really need to register there, except for the fact that we loved the bedding selections.
