So we have signed the contract on our beautiful venue working on the photgrapher, DJ (which will be my cousing so no biggy) and videographer….getting ideas for invites and programs have done a few mock boquets (wish i took some pictures of). Should i be doing something else?? Hummm i feel like i should be working on a lot more…maybe a trip to a paper store or Michaels will solve the problem…
Does anybody recommed a wedding planner (book/binder thing)???

You should start looking at dresses, figuring out your wedding party, decide if you want a wedding planner to work with or a DOC.

I never really liked any of the planners/books out there. You can definitely start looking at dresses, DJ’s, florists, photographer, bakery for the cake, asking your wedding party, plus details etc. Check out the knot’s checklists or Real Simple. Lots of places that tell you where to begin 🙂 GL planning!

Have you written your guest list? Started looking at the types of dresses you like?
As a person who has had 4 or 5 wedding binders/folders/boxes, I’m probably not the person to answer this. LOL Currently I’m using a binder from Office Max filled with page protectors for my pictures. I just started my planning though, so I didn’t have any need for a place to store contracts. I’m actually signing my first one today! 🙂 Now that I need more organization and places to store things, I’ve ordered a Russel and Hazel wedding organizer. One of the Bees just wrote about their binders and she loves hers. Mine comes today, so I’ll let you know! 🙂

if you’re looking for a guide as to what to do / when, i’m using the knot’s timeline and that’s helped me get things done on a timely basis (or skip ahead if something strikes my fancy!)

Also, Russel and Hazel has free worksheets you can download and use in your own notebook.

I have looked at dresses and am set about 95% on it, i will make that choice no later then this month, we have picked out our wedding party and our godparents, the latino traditions, so i think we have all the “major” stuff taken care of, and we have picked out our wedding favor which i am super duper excited about, just have to find the <span style=”text-decoration: line-through;”>cheapist, i mean, most economical price…
@Kara: thank you maybe i am looking for a timeline of some sort, i will take a look at them, i just dont want to miss anything..
@KateMW: Yes please, keep me posted about your binder i would love to know how it works out, as of know i just have info stored in folders on my desktop…I am a visual person so i would love to have something in from of me…

The Mindy Weis wedding planner book is really pretty and has gotten a lot of great reviews. I coveted it myself but was already too deep into my planning to make it worthwhile.
