I know Bed Bath and Beyond has them as seen here. But, I was actually needing one for a baby shower I was going to throw, and found one of Craigslist for like half off. If that doesn't work for you, check out BB&B and that way you can at least use one of their 20% off coupons.
If you're looking for a DIY approach, try this site:

Some of these stands have strongly attempted to lure me away from my traditional cake. :) They look like they'd be super fun to make, and are very pretty!
Best of luck!
I saw an adorable one at Crate and Barrel a while ago. I'm not sure how much it was, but it was cute! :)
Try to rent one from another baker, or better yet, from a cake supply store. My mom just rented a really large one for my shower and it is only $10 to rent! We aren't even getting cupcakes from them. :)
You can get them at Oriental Trading Co-online ordering. I have two that I use for my classroom at school.
I just ordered mine this week actually! I ordered mine here: http://www.cupcaketree.com/ I like the idea of decorating it however I want. There are 2 sizes I believe.
Is the wedding being catered? If so the catering company may have one you can use or rent.
I have been looking for a few of these myself and so far I have found them at the following places:
Joann Fabrics
Michaels
Hobby Lobby
Craigslist
Ebay
William and Sonoma
Bed Bath and Beyond
Walmart
Target
I also recently saw at Family Dollar (or Dollar Tree) a mini cupcake stand
I have also seen on here some great tutorials on how to build your own cupcake stand or tower similar to the cake stand ones and etc...
Hope that helps

We are having a smaller sized wedding - around 75 guests - and are planning to have a tower of cupcakes instead of a traditional cake. All of the towers I keep coming across online are $80+ which seems absurd. The bakery we are getting the cupcakes from doesn't sell them or have them for rent.
Does anyone know a good place to purchase a cupcake tower? Or another cool way to display them? (having them spread out on a table just won't have the same effect...)
THANKS!
