Long story short, I am trying to go chemical free without breaking my budget. I would also like to make many of my things, as I do enjoy the experimental and creation portion of it. I think I would have an overwhelming sense of satisfaction knowing that I made something good for myself.
I would like to try my hand at making roll-on oil fragrances (so I don’t have to buy perfume) and deoderants (as I am allergic to most, even organic ones), as well as to use them in other ways that would be put on the body…
I am just not sure which sources are reliable to purchase from.
Specifically, I am looking to find essential oils that can be used on the body, without already being mixed with something. I keep coming across perfumed oils, that claim to be natural, but have alcohol solevents or other things in them. It’s a bit discouraging.
Whole foods charges quite a bit of money for essential oils, and I would like to find an alternative before I just suck it up and buy from them or a local supermarket. I really would like to find an online retailer where I can purchase them for a fraction of in-store prices.
I just want 100% natural scented oils, no synthetic ones.
Anyone have any advice?

I have shopped at Body Shop in the past (don’t know how many they carry now… but at one time they had oodles)
Many Natural Food Stores / Bulk Food Stores / Health Food Stores / and Beauty Outlets tend to carry this sort of thing as well.
Hope this helps (some),

@This Time Round: I’ll check the bulk food stores near me. Most natural/health food stores over-charge, imo, and unfortunately the beauty outlets near me don’t supply pure oils either. Thank you for the suggestions though!

My favorite place is Mountain Rose Herbs. They are a lot less money than going to the natural food stores health section.

@MrsSaltWaterTaffy: Thanks, I’m going to check the website out now! 😀
-edit- Unfortunately, they cannot ship their essential oils and anything marked “HM” to Canada. 🙁

Aww man, maybe Amazon Canada would have essential oils?

@xoxocheri: Pure esstential oils can be pricey but they are better since they have not synthetic oils in them (very improtant if you have allergies or sensitivities). I use Youngliing and they do deliver to Canada. You can buy wholesale or through a distributor (my number is 1432084 – I promise never to harrass or sell you anything). Amazon or abundanthealth4u.com has the containers for roll ons.
