I have found a lot of nice name brand stuff at TJMaxx and Marshalls. Even stuff like Nike!
@MissAsB: Yes, I second this! Workout clothes can get really expensive, Marshalls has some great stuff!
Yay, we just had a Marshalls open a few weeks ago, but with wedding expenses, I haven't made the trek yet! I will definitely check it out. I have a lot of comfortable stuff, but I wore track pants and a t-shirt tonight, and was really uncomfortable, especially in the shirt!
I do yoga and running, and I love the Lucy and LuluLemon brands. They're a tad on the expensive side, but they last forever, and don't get in the way of me working out.
@Nati-Lyte - I read the ohsheglows blog, and she is a big fan of LuluLemon. I definitely don't mind splurging for quality!
All my workout clothes are lululemon. I worked there for a year between undergrad and grad school (in 2004/2005) and all my clothes that I got with my discount are still in amazing condition. I've bought a few new pieces since I stopped working there, but most of my stuff are items that I got with my 50% discount! It's pricey, but it stands the test of time - just make sure you follow their care instructions (wash in cold water, hang to dry).
The tribe has spoken :-) I will check them out. Any specific recommendations?
I love my astro pants, and my groove pants! They fit so great and don't squeeze super tight to give me back rolls or anything
Lululemon is great. Pricey but great quality and well-designed. But I'm cheap, so I only buy the essentials from Lulu - sport bras! Everything else, I go cheap ex. ratty old t-shirts and shorts.
I wear my yoga clothes for the gym. I am a lululemon junkie.
I'm a worse cheapo--Walmart and Goodwill! I am not looking to impress anyone when I'm working out. I don't see the point in spending a lot of money on clothes that I'm just going to get all sweaty and gross anyway. The only thing I don't get used are the sportsbras. Walmart usually has a pack of 3 sportsbras for $12-15. (I'm average-small up top so I'm not in need of serious support, just enough to be comfortable. Besides, my workout is usually weights and an elliptical machine, so the girls don't get bounced too bad.)
Target is my go-to place for workout clothes. I love their sports bras, and they're much cheaper than Lululemon!
I really like Nike workout stuff. Their running tights and pants are great for cycling, jogging and gym workouts. The t-shirts are lightweight and comfy, and they have pretty stylish new designs too. Not a big fan of Nike shoes though, they don't seem to agree with my feet.
I use the same clothes for everything except yoga. For yoga I like wider pants which annoy the heck out of me if I'm running or cycling, and you need tight (not too tight) tops for yoga as otherwise they'll fall over your head when you're bending over! Not a look I like myself as my midriff is still far from perfect haha
gap body has good yoga pants too.
But i agree with someone above about marshalls/tj maxx...a lot of random brands at cheap prices..
Lululemon. I especially love them because they started out small near my home :) Even though they got bought out they still have the best yoga pants ever!!
Champion has a line of workout gear for Target that I like a lot (and pretty much everything in the line is under $20!). I also like Dick's Sporting Goods for stuff from Adidas and Nike.
I DEFINITELY recommend Target for whisk-away clothing for real active work-outs (elliptical, treadmill). Affordable and good quality.
Target has great sportsbras.
I also love Marshalls and Tj Maxx for their workout clothes.
I like the C9 stuff at Target, but am going to have to check out lululemon.
Yoga pants I'll buy anywhere that has yoga pants long enough for me, haha. Everything else (sports bras, shirts, shorts, even socks) I usually get at Marshalls or TJ Maxx unless I find a great deal somewhere else. I've also gotten a few things from Target!
i've been wearing the same leggings and yoga pants from danskin when i work out since i took dance classes in college like 7 years ago. i love them! they're expensive but last forever. i wear the leggings too under skirts and dresses in the winter. other than that, i just wear old ratty tshirts, and then i have trouble finding comfortable sports bras...apparently i should check out lululemon!
Athleta!!! I adore their clothing! I think they are catalog-only based (no brick and mortar stores) and part of the Gap group.
Thanks for all the suggestions!! I ordered a pair of pants from Lululemon (pricey!!) and I hope I LOVE them! After the wedding I will be doing some more serious shopping, and will let you all know what I discover ;-)

So I have recently started working out again, and am feeling great! I am not doing it to lose weight, but just for overall health. I was very active in high school and college, and with the wedding planning coming to an end, I am LOVING the way it feels again!
Unfortunately I don't have a lot of comfortable workout clothes. Where do you get yours? What do you recommend? I do a lot of different things at the gym - elliptical, treadmill, weights, yoga, etc. I switch it up a lot!
