I like Soma's bamboo ones, I wait til they go on sale and buy them. I will also shop at VS on their sales. I have also used Kohl's and Target as well
You know, a friend bought me several pairs of undies from Belk for my lingerie gift! I also like Kohls, too. Of course, it's really hard for me to put my money elsewhere other than Victoria's Secret!
How cheap are you talking? I love Calvin Klein's seamless and hipster undies. Macy's usually has them 3 for $30. So not cheap cheap but they're SO comfy and are good quality.
arie's, a branch of american eagle and gap body all have good quality and usually do like 5, $25. I hate cheap feeling undies but you can by them anywhere... wet seal ect.
Target, JC Penney's, and Kohl's. JCP and Kohl's can have some great sales!
I like the Gilligan O'Malley brand at Target. The bras are cheap and they last a long time. The wire will pop out but you definitely get your money's worth before that happens.
I buy calvin klein underwear from Tjmaxx.. its usually less than half the actual price.
macys and nordstrom have good undies.
i second the calvin klein ones. they are super comfy.
I always seem to find great stuff at TJ Max. H&M and Target have inexpensive lingerie as well.
Target. Gillian O'Malley. A couple of years ago Consumer Reports compared three or four bras...Gillian O'Malley, Victoria's Secret, and Maidenform (I think). Turns out Gilliam O'Malley beat the others out in comfort, style, and durability. After reading the report I had to try it out, and it's true!
Fredrick's of Hollywood is my favorite. They have amazing sales... this weekend I got bridal collection bras on clearance for $10 each!
I've had good luckat TJ Maxx, Marshall, Kohls and Target.
We have a Jockey outlet near by and I've found cute undies there.
If you have an H&M near you, they have some very nice, affordable bras. If you are a larger size, also try Lane Bryant.
As for durability of different kinds of bras, they can do all the studies they want. It's all in how you care for them. You machine wash or dry them? Expect them to fall apart, end of story, even on delicate. You should handwash all bras, no matter if they were $15 or $115.
Just wanted to share---
I was wondering b/c I wanted to buy a matching black/hot pink bra & undies for my boudoir shoot! And here's what I got-
The bra is from Target for $10, and the undies are from Macy's, and I think I'm going to go with the middle pair.
The negligee is from TJMaxx for $10! yay!
If I'm looking for something inexpensive but high quality, I go to Nordstrom Rack or Macy's (certain brands).
For my everyday stuff... I liek Gap body or Macy's. You can get cute lingerie stuff from TJ Maxx for like SUPER cheap. I have a few baby dolls by Betsy Johnson that were $20 each.
I'm a funny size, so I get almost all my bras at Macy's--Calvin Klein and DKNY are two of the (seemingly very) few that make my size.
Underwears I like to get either at Macy's (hey, matchy matchy!) or Aerie--their thongs are the most comfortable, and the cutest!
Penney's lately - they always have a a good 3 for 24 or 5 for 25. I really like the Ambrielle stuff :)
Rue 21!! Except they never have my bra size (I wear 32DD/E). But they're panties are good, and at .99 a pop, they're a steal!
@joy2011: H&M has some really pretty stuff right now! I LOVE their bras, very nicely shaped and made!
@Jenbee: & @bookworm88: I love that you shop at aerie, I used to work there :-D Such a great brand!
Also Aerie! I haven't tried their bras for whatever reason, but I love their underwear. Comfy, good quality, cute, pretty cheap... done. In my experience, they last longer than the cheaper end of Victoria's Secret underwaer, too.
