During the day, the dogs sleep wherever they lay down. At night, one under the covers, one on the foot of the bed. Cats sometimes on pillows, sometimes in cat caves. I will say that, while I love having my furbabies close, especially in winter, it’s not 100% fantastic all the time. The nights DH is home too (he works overnights) it’s pretty squished in our bed. We’re actually upgrading to a king for that reason and hopefully it’ll hlep.

I voted other, as in “wherever the eff they want.” Our cats have preferences. The little one likes the top of the cat tower and the floor. The big one likes the deck chair (especially when you put one of the floor cushions on it), laps, the bed, and blankets that are on the floor, etc.

But yes, they do sleep on the bed.

He sleeps in his crate only at bedtime. It’s his “room,” but he doesn’t go in until bedtime. He won’t even hang out in there.

When I was a kid, I used to have dogs sleeping on the bed, then I read up on some books on dog training and handling and realised it’s not a good idea. Now, the dogs sleep outside wherever they want to sleep – so one dog may sleep under the house, another in the shed, etc.

We have them inside supervised during the day, but they’re not allowed on the furniture and they know it.

I didn’t let my dog sleep in bed with me until she was 5 years old. I was going through a hard time and she snuggled up to me and comforted me until I fell asleep. It was AMAZING and I was like wait, why am I still abiding by my parents rules? This is my house, if I want to let the dog sleep in bed and someone doesn’t like it they can GTFO. I honestly wouldn’t trade it for anything, it’s like a slumber party when everyone gets in bed now LOL

My dog has a big cushy bed in the living room, but can walk throughout the house at night, so she can protect the home whether or not we are there.

Mine sleep in our bed.  DH can’t sleep if anyone’s touching him, and I can’t sleep if I don’t have someone to cuddle with.  He sleeps alone on his side, and I’ve got anywhere between 1-4 dogs piled on me at a time.

@Dogsbody92:  My fur babies have their own beds in our bedroom. One large one for the pit and a medium one for my jack russell. They sleep on them every night, all night (with all their toys sharing their beds). And during the day, they nap where ever they want. They aren’t allowed on our bed (dirty dogs on the sheets that I have to wash? uh uh) but they are allowed on the couch to nap.

My dog has a dog bed at the foot of our bed and she normally starts out on the floor or her bed. Sometime in the middle of the night she always jumps up on the bed. Sometimes she sleeps in between us and sometimes she sleeps on our pillows (she still thinks she’s only a 10lb pup lol). But I’ve always had my dogs sleep on my bed and she doesn’t shed so it’s not a big deal. We do, however, make sure she stays in our room because she’s only 11 months and still likes to eat everything.

My cats sleep where they want, their preference is usually in the bed. I dont mind I love my boy kitty he’s a particularly good nap partner. He also tends to take care of me when I’m not feeling the best by snuggling me.

Every morning I wake up with the dog in between DH and I, eventhough she’s not allowed on the bed.  She sleeps in her bed on the floor and some point in the middle of the night she uses ninja stealth to get up on the bed, while we are asleep.
