Usally the best time to purchase a Christmas tree is right after Christmas for price wise. I don’t think you are going to find a discounted one now.

Usually the online retailers have good sales for Black Friday.  They have deeper discounts in January to clear out their stock.

The company our family gets our trees from basically shuts down from mid-January until February.  Anything being manufactured now is likely for this upcoming Christmas season.

If you don’t mind a fake tree, post a Wanted request on your local Freecycle (http://freecycle.org).  Read your local group’s rules carefully before posting. Some are very strict regarding how you can and can’t word your request.  And some local groups are more active than others so you might not get what you’re looking for, or you might have a half dozen people willing to let you take their unwanted fake tree off their hands.

@LilliePad:  A tree farm or garden centre.

ETA: Oh, you want a fake tree. Then any department store because they start stocking xmas stuff in July. That makes sense now as a live xmas tree would be dead by the time xmas rolled around if you got it now 😛

treetopia.com

I’ve bought 2 trees from them, really good quality. They sometimes have sales, I seem to remember a few last summer.
