Hey ladies! Not sure if I will be getting married in NJ or Philly, but just wanna say hi! How's the planning going?

@ab33arch: They're coming along VERY slowly! haha! We're both in school and trying to save up some money for the wedding. We have a budget, though. We don't want to go over $10,000. That would be amazing. How are your plans going?
@RayRayFurious: wow nice... FH and I are both in school also...he goes full time and i go part time and work full time....we're trying to save also but we're only doin a budget of 5k...wish we could afford 10k!!! lol :-)
I'm here...but getting married in Northern VA. In 24 days! eek :)

Bumpy Bump
I miss the weekends. So how is everyones wedding plannings going. I'm still looking for a venue. Anyone have any recommendations?
@ azureori are you looking for a hall an a cater or the whole shabang?
there are so many places and so many prices.....
first make a budget
next check out some of these places....
Halls:

South Jersey Caterer:
Clorinda (message me if you would like her info. not sure how far she travels)
Reception Venues:
Ramada Inn and Mori's (same owner gorgeous one of the best prices in SJ)
Hampton Inn not sure of $$ but beautiful none the less
need more? just ask ive been doing this for a while... I plan events sometimes...
but dont mind giving up my tricks

We're trying to make fire halls a last resort since we don't want to be that couple that gets intrrupted by sirens. My problem is I want something industrial looking being that we are going with a concert inspired wedding. But at the same time we're trying to stick with a $10k budget so a reception hall seems our best bet.
What photographers are you looking out in SJ? (Oh! and I'm kinda new here, so can you tell me what DH means?)

we're getting married at the carriage house in galloway nj, definitely check it out! it's beautiful.
@RobynB: I have a friend who graduated from photog school. I'll talk to her and see if she wants her name put out. This would be the best way for her to get some work.
@nicole18ashley: my FMIL keeps trying to get us to have to wedding there. every other time we see her it's about there ans paris caterering
@azureori -have you gone to see it in person? it's such a beautiful venue. do you not like it? lol sounds like you're annoyed that your FMIL keeps suggesting it. the smithville inn is pretty for weddings too, in the same area..or the seaview mariott?
@nicole18ashley: It is really annoying that she keeps suggesting it. I'll probably keep the place in mind since all I keep hearing good things.
i get annoyed when people keep suggesting things to me too, so i understand. but definitely check it out, i fell in love with it when we went there lol is there anywhere you're interested in? we booked it in january and it was already almost booked up for june of next year

I have to take something back. I said FI and I were doing a concert inspired wedding. That's how it started. Now it seems to have turned vintage gothic with our concert inspiration thrown in.
This was driving me nuts all night.
@nicole18ashley: Carriage House is gorgeous! I live about 5 minutes from there. It was too pricey for my wedding reception, but my mom is hosting my daughter's Sweet 16 there. My reception will be at the Smithville Inn. My FH cousin's husband's family owns it. (huh?) Yeah I know, not close enough to get a discount, but close enough where I know we'll be taken care of! haha.

Hey south jersey brides! i didn't know there was any of us on here!!!
@azureori: i went to a wedding at the smithville in and the ceremony was inside in front of a brick fire place with a ton of pillar candles... might go well with ur vintage goth theme? and honestly, they are decently priced for the service and especially for south jersey. you may also want to check out the ocean city yacht club, the station house and abbie holmes estate but I don't know how south you want to get hahaha
