Have you looked at Angel Orensanz or Gotham Hall? I looked at both when I was on the venue hunt, but my guest list is half of yours and I thought both of these spaces were way too big for 120 guests (not to mention I learned that Gotham Hall has a 200 person minimum for Saturday evening weddings), so I went with a different place but both of these might be what you're looking for.

Habibi - Are you only looking in Manhattan or are you open to Brooklyn or Nassau County?

Also, when are you planning to have the wedding (Spring/Summer or Fall/Winter)?

If you are not partial to Manhattan I am getting married at Crystal Springs Country Club in Hamburg, NJ.  It is gorgeous and its like a mini getaway for everyone.  Their is a lodge connected to the country club so you get both feelings.

Been to a wedding at Gotham Hall and loved it!!!

hi, thanks for all the suggestions. we're aiming for next summer early fall b/c we'd rather not be engaged for more than a year or so.

Gotham Hall is gorgous but out of my price range.

We're from Jersey so Brooklyn or Long Island are kind of far for our guests to travel.

Have any of you been to an event in the Altman Building? My mom isn't into renting everything but I think I may be able to convince her.

I just can't seem to find anything that I love in my price range ($240 per head max must include tax and gratuity or basically $175-185++)

i'm having my reception at the Metropolitan Building in Long Island City.  but if you aren't into arts, i wouldn't recommend it (it's got more of the hardwood floors, exposed brick, etc.).  but if you do appreciate the more artsy-fartsy feel, it's perfect =)

Did you check Liberty House or Hyatt in Jersey City?  Both have incredible city views and I think are in your price range.

Liberty House is a repeat venue for my family and I was not thrilled with the room at the Hyatt even though it does have unbelievable views.

Has anyone been to an event at the Prince Geroge Ballroom? I'm going to look next Tuesday.

novbride - I love your venu! I'll have to check with my family about driving to Queens from my church. It might be too far.

I am having my wedding at the Prince George Ballroom next year! I am in love with the venue, and the manager there, Jonathan, is just a really, chill guy. I hope you like it Habibi!

    Hello!

I had my reception just outside of NYC in Northern NJ at a place called the Apple Ridge Country Club. They have a few different rooms, but I had my smaller wedding in a room of all glass- Even the ceilings!

The food was outstanding- there was SOOO much of it and it was all delicious. We had trouble choosing at our tasting because it was just all so good!

They have package deals which include open bar, tax AND gratuity. The lowest price is 120 per person, and i think the highest may be around 195? They have a pricelist on their website, I believe. This also includes linens, chair covers, sashes, a bridal suite complete with champagne and food, 18 holes of golf, and lots more!! You can also add on yummy extras like a sushi bar or chocolate fountain.

I was really really impressed with it and so were our guests! Everyone left stuffed and very happy :)

    Hope this helps!

We are getting married at Penthouse 15 which would be too small for your wedding...however there were 3 spaces in the building - The Westside Loft would fit 250+ ( I think).  The cost to rent the space is reasonable - however it's pretty much an empty space so you would have to hire a caterer and rent all furniture, equipment, etc...Their site is www.loft11.com
