I have been following this very closely.  I hope the two objects seen on the satalite are connected because the families just need closure now.  I just think its strange that if it were a hijacking that nobody on board was able to send a text or make a call in those 7 hours of possible flight.  The other theory was the one about the rapid depresurisation of the cabin which would have rendered all on board incapacitated but does not explain the change of course. Families of those on board are not giving up hope of the plane being on the ground somewhere due to its intentional diversion, but where the heck could they be.  Unless the black box is located it may forever remain a mystery but I hope for all those affected that there is some form of closure on this soon.

ETA: Just checked BBC News where they had a short video explaining all the theories… Cyber Hyjacking was one of them. This thought terrifies me.

Radar shaddow was another one. The Aircraft could have been flying within a radar shaddow of another aircraft in the area so was therefore undectable on radar then turned off course. If this was the case, this aircraft could be anywhere now.

mrsalexander:  If anything, I suspect they may have found the plane, and it could have been hijacked and there might be negotiations going on the side. They just don’t want to alert the press and blow up this whole thing, or else something could happen to the hostages.

But that’s just me. Everything on the news sounds like a distraction to me.

Praying for them still…

mrsalexander:  This too is keeping my attention, and very closely at that!  I keep reading story after story, theory after theory, and am in disbelief that they really no nothing more than they did a few weeks ago!!  At the same time, I know that the stories I am reading are probably biased at best, depending the source, and the media today!

I, for one, believe this was a tragic accident, and that time had run out (in some way) for passengers/pilots to alert anyone of trouble, and because of modern technology the plane flew until it was out of gas…or whatever.  I, at least, hope that is the answer – so that if/when they find the plane, families can have peace knowing no one suffered.  (That sounds terrible, but it is not meant too!).

Praying everyone has answers soon!!!

mrsalexander:  I’m constantly looking to see if there has been any updates or any new information.  It’s so sad…I cannot even begin to imagine what those poor families are going through.  As much as I know families are still holding out hope they are alive, I hope that the debris by Australia pans out…I feel like not knowing where they are or what happened…or if they’re hurt, or being held hostage, ect…and reading the thousands of ideas on what happened and where the plane is must be so unsettling.  The passangers and crew…and their families deserve peace.  The idea of a hijacking or that this was planned is devastating…the idea of them them being in pain or hurt…even more so.  But the fact that we have no idea and all we can do is sit and come up with all the what-if’s and maybe’s is crazy.  You would think in 2014 there would be a way to get answers…but for now the passangers, crew, and their families are all in my prayers.

mrsalexander:  I am totally obssessed with it too. Sadly, I think it is sitting somewhere on the floor of the Indian Ocean and it would not surprise me at all if the exact whereabouts are never located. The families will likely never get the answers they desperately want.

I have a friend who lives in Perth. It is really hitting home for her because it’s so nearby. She literally lives on the beach.

mrsalexander:  *Raises hand* I’ve read multiple theories. Last week I was leaning more towards, it was shot down by military aircraft and is in the Indian Ocean. Now I still think it’s in the Indian Ocean. Hopefully, the lastest discovery from Australia proves to the be the jet, so the black box can at least be recovered.

I don’t think it’s purely conincidental that several of the passengers worked in an aviation related industry. I also don’t think the captain’s flight simulator was used exclusively for his training and amusement. I think the captain had big plans for this jet. What that entails of, we may never know.

My DH, who is absolutely NOT someone who has any time for conspiracy theories, said he wouldn’t have been surprised if the plane had been hi-jacked by air pirates and taken to Somalia. He admits that this is a rather outlandish idea but certainly it does seem unlikely that some bigger plan existed even if that all went horribly wrong in its execution.

I agree with greenidlady that it is probably in the Indian Ocean. I also realise that some sort of catastrophic failure could have occurred but the change of route seems odd, especially since it could have found landing space shortly after it changed route. Even when engines fail, planes can glide for surprising distances during which you would have expected the crew to have put out a MayDay signal. For it to completely vanish suggests some sort of foul play.

I just how that what has been spotted on satellite turns out to be the wreckage and that all the families affected can begin to get answers.

Praying for the passengers/workers on the plane (and their loved ones) I really just hope they’re safe on an island somewhere.
