My hometown is my current city (and where we're getting married), so they're one and the same!
My hometown is also my current city and where we're getting married. :) My FI is from Brooklyn, and I'm from Manhattan. We currently live in Brooklyn, and our wedding is in Brooklyn.
I've lived in IL, TX, MN, MA, NY, and PA. My fiance has lived in MA, the Caribbean, London, WA, and PA. Our families (and wedding party) are scattered all over the United States. Our wedding will be in Pittsburgh, our current city. It just seemed easier that way :)
Our wedding was in the town where we live now. We met in college here and have both lived here for over 10 years. I moved around a little as a kid, so no other place really felt more like home for me than where I am now!
ours was where we live now...i'm from japan, he's from iowa, and we both live in FL now so that was an easy decision for us!!
I am currently in Charlotte, NC. My FI is in Charleston, SC...we are getting married in Jamaica.
Like redherring I have lived in many places in the US and in other countries...so the easiest thing to do is just to have the wedding where we currently are...besides Teddy is from here and his fam is here so that helps :)
I'm originally from Texas, he's from Milwaukee. We live in Massachusetts right now, but are moving to Milwaukee in (hopefully) June..So that's where our wedding will be
i really wanted it in my hometown (northwest chi suburb ), but unfortunately the venues we looked at didn't work out. :( But, we are having it at a north shore suburb that i love and we hopefully will live there when we move back "home". (Currently living in Pittsburgh till FI finishes his residency)
Our wedding was in the city we live now. Just worked out that way, otherwise it wouldve been somewhere nearby where we live.
Where we both grew up - and in the church where my parents, my uncle, and his aunt were married too!
Where we both grew up! We're currently living somewhere else, but we'll be back there ASAP!
Where we live now is only 20 miles away from where we both grew up but couldn't be any more different. We're having the ceremony and reception here - I feel where I live now is really where I belong at this point in life and don't feel any connection or desire to spend any more time in my hometown than visiting relatives requires!
We're getting married where I went to college, which is about an hour and a half from where I grew up. We live in MN, he grew up in ND, so there seemed to be no easy answer.
we're getting married right here in indy - he and I have both lived here for well me = 5 years him = 6 years and it's where our house is now. :)
I'm originally from northwestern indiana (about 40 minutes east of chicago, plus i lived IN chicago for 3 years during college)
and his family is straight west on the state line of indiana / illinois.
it's a good comprimise for all to come here. :)
We're doing a semi-destination about 2 hours away from where we currently live. We are moving back to where I did most of my growing up, which will be 4 hours away from where we are getting married.
We are getting married in my FI's hometown (aka my soon to be hometown). I do not want a Las Vegas wedding. :( Plus, most of my mom's family lives in FI's state.
im getting married where i went to collge also, williamsburg, va - only about an hour away from where i grew up in the richmond area. :)
We're having our wedding in FI's hometown, which is where we currently live! I didn't want to plan a wedding long distance!!
We're getting married in my current city... 3000 miles from my FI's hometown!
We're both from the same city (Charlotte, NC! Shout out to JamaicaBride!), but live in Madison, WI now, but we're getting married in Asheville, NC (about 2.5 hours from Charlotte..). It is a midway point for all of our families in TN, SC, and NC and makes the wedding kind of destination-y w/o any lengthy travel).
We live in Atl Louis and we're getting married in my hometown of Springfield, IL.
We're getting married about 15 minutes from where we live. FI grew up here in SoCal and I grew up in NorCal. :)
Well, not in my hometown... but possibly his hometown or the town I lived in for 13 years as an adult.
Neither will be destination but it's not our hometown or current city!
Probably here in Lexington, since that's where I live now and it'll just be easier. If we had more time, I'd get married at home in Atlanta. But then our coworkers wouldn't come, and that would bum me out!
Ours was in the town where my parents currently live. They moved there the day before I left for college so I feel like I've never really lived there (Except for summers in college). We moved around a lot when I was little and lived in a small town near there for my high school years so I do feel "at home" in the area.
We both grew up in upstate NY about 45 minutes from each other. We're having the wedding in the area of my hometown, because his is in a rural area.
We thought about having it in the city, but it would be too expensive and out of the way considering we're the only people in my and his family that live anywhere near here.
We are having it in FI's hometown of Halifax, Nova Scotia. However, Halifax has a special place in my heart becuase it is where I went to university, first moved away from home, had a great university experience, and met FI! So I am more than happy to have my wedding there. My mom was initially upset I didn't want to get married in my hometown, but I don't like the city I grew up in that much.
