Hello new Boston Bee!! I’m getting married at the Pierce House in Lincoln, MA. The cost depends on the amount of time on the property, the day of the week, and the time of year. They do not have a lot of features a ‘traditional’ venue may have, such as an in house caterer, a wedding coordinator, etc. This was perfect for me because i am actually an event planner and i was dead set on using certain vendors. There are so many boutique hotels, historic homes, parks, and restaurants that could be perfect for aby type of wedding whether it’s low key or super glamorous! Let me know if you need any help – I love to lend my opinions and event knowledge!

Welcome to the boards!! I am getting married in Stow, MA next July at Butternut Golf Club. There is no cost for the venue other than the food, service, etc. My fiance and I are both big planners too so we have a lot done so far. Where in MA are you looking?

Being a planner helps in a lot of ways, I know all the vendors, I can get deals, and I am confident in my timelines and in planning a fully thought-out event.

BUT since this is MY wedding I want it to be PERFECT… It’s so hard to let go of things that I cannot afford, let alone choose one style for the wedding (i love it all from chic loft style to rustic), and it’s also a very different experience planning an event for yourself than a client!

@iMechie:  Getting married in Boston is definitely expensive.  We got married last September at the Renaissance hotel and it was amazing!  We choose a hotel because we had so many OOT guests.

I just wanted to recommend a DJ who was amazing and reasonably priced, you’ll love working with Corey – http://www.djrmc.com/

I am getting married at the Revere Hotel. MY FI and I did not want a cookie cutter wedding so we are having our ceremony in the Theater 1 and the reception in Space 57.  It is a raw space, which means we have to bring in alot of things, but we can be creative and make it our own.

@iMechie:  It sounds like you might have already found your location, but I thought I’d add our venue to the list… we got married at the Exchange Conference Center on the Fish Pier.  It cost us ~$15k for 60 guests including cocktail hour, plated dinner, as well as an open bar.  We also had our ceremony (actually two ceremonies) there.  They were super flexible!  The space is run by East Meets West Catering and the food was VERY good.  We got great feedback on the venue and food!  I think it is the only venue we looked at in Boston that had free parking, and even though it’s in the city it feels very private because it is at the end of the Pier.

I’m happy to share any other vendor recommondations if you need them! 🙂
