This may be an odd question, but it occurred to me as I was looking at photos posted here. Do you wear your rings pushed all the way down on your finger, closest to your hand? Or do you wear them just barely past the middle knuckle, closer to the knuckle than to the hand? Or somewhere in between?
It looks unusual to me when I see someone wear one just past the knuckle and not pushed all the way down toward the hand, but that is just because I am used to wearing mine close to the hand. Indeed, I have a small indentation at the base of my fingers that seems to have been created for a ring. But then, the way I wear mine might look odd to the person who wears them closer to the middle knuckle. I also wonder if it would be easier to accidentally have a ring slip off it it is worn farther from the hand instead of at the very base of the finger.
Anyway, how do you wear yours and why?

@echomomm: I wear mine all the way down. I remember when I got my first real ring when I was about 10. It was an emerald, my birthstone. My mom said “don’t let that ring ride up on your finger.” So I have always pushed mine back down too when it “rides” up. However, once you have a wedding band on there it wil not matter, if you have short fingers anyway.

I wear mine right in the middle. My wedding set is actually four bands wide so it really has to be in the middle. It isn’t comfortable if it’s too close to the knuckle or to the hand.

I wear mine somewhere on my finger so it doesn’t make a muffin top lol

I wear mine as far down on my finger as possible and it stays there. I know what you mean about seeing some ladies wearing theirs closer to the knuckle. I’ve never had any issues with it slipping off or spinning (I also have a European shank). I just moved my ring up a little bit and it wouldn’t stay it and would probably drive me crazy! I’m guessing it just depends where it is comfortable.

Mine sits at about the middle point. It just naturally rests there. I never consciously thought about it before.

@echomomm: I push mine down, it creeps back up and I push it back down, back up, back down… Man, this brat just won’t learn!

I typically push mine up to my knuckle because my fingers are a bit fatter there. My rings are a bit large so they spin like crazy if I leave them right at the (skinnier) base of my finger.

Mine feels most comfortable pushed all the way down, but it tends to slide up toward the middle. I could probably size it down a bit, but right now it’s so hot out that my fingers swell so sometimes it stays where I want. My RHRs tend to slide up a bit, but I push them back down when I notice.

I purposefully bought rings that are a bit small so they onl fit at the base in the summer. In the winter they sometimes slide up, but I push them back to the base.

@Cummins59: thats interesting. You said you wear yours down as far as it would go, but when I look at your picture I would think that you wore it halfway. So maybe it just LOOKS from these pictures like some people wear their rings higher on the finger than they actually do!

Right now I wear my e-ring halfway, but I think that when I start wearing a wedding band I will rock a completely seperated gap and have my e-ring closer to my knuckle. I find that the lower on my finger I wear my ring the less I feel it if that makes sense, and I LIKE knowing its there, so therefore I like wearing it a bit higher!

@Honey-Bee: I know it looks kind of deceiving but if I spread my fingers on the right side it’s right at the bottom where my ring finger and middle finger meet.

depends on the weather since it’s looser when it’s cold. usually somewhere in between tho
