We had Jen Raichman custom design ours. She’s amazing. We went back and forth a lot about designs and text – she didn’t mind at all. You won’t find anyone better.

This is where we ordered ours from:  http://www.modernketubah.com/ketubahs.php?design=16  We were able to change the phrase and the text to what we wished.  I was also able to email directly with the artist, which made me feel more comfortable.

Marlew – A lot of online retailers have “interfaith” wording options for their Ketubahs, but charge per word if you wish to change anything about their set text. I wouldn’t imagine that would be true working directly with an artist. You might also consider getting the Ketubah text printed on a blank paper, then sending it to an artist that might not particularly specialize in them, but whose work you enjoy. It really depends on what sort of style you’re looking for.

If you do an Alchemy request on Etsy, I recommend strongly to ask to see several samples of their work as well as speak to other buyers who have worked with them before. It is also a good idea to have them send you photos as they are working on your item to make sure it is coming along to your liking. There are many, many reputable artists on Etsy, but there are also some that even with the best of intentions, may not give you what you want.

We are also doing an english-only, interfaith ketubah. But we are designing our own. We found some great text at:  http://www.ketubahtree.com/textops.php  and are having it scripted over a blownup photo from our engagement shoot. Something like this: http://www.mpartworks.com/photo_ketubah_examples.htm   I think they have a look that is modern and fun, and really focus on the aspects of a marriage that are important to us (i.e. downplaying the religion).
