- Wedding: July 2013
I am getting married in my hometown, where my parents still live.
I live four hours away, but I do visit regularly.
My job gives me set vacation time. My wedding is mid-August and I finish work in mid-July. I also have vacation time on in May. I also do not work weekends often.
I have seen a dress I like near my hometown. It is in budget and the store has their own seamstress and alterations dept which I like.
The question is: would I be better trying to get the same dress nearer to where I NOW live, and have all the fittings done there, or go for the store I saw the dress in near my parents?
Pros of buying in hometown near wedding venue:
Already seen the dress, know they can get me it!
ALterations on site
My parents can store it in the weeks before the wedding with no fear about FI seeing (we live together)
My mother and BMs could join me at the fittings
Pros of buying where I now live:
Easy to arrange fittings!
No travel time involved
Could ask a friend to come to fittings
