So I just got engaged last week (yay!!!), but unfortunately the ring is a bit too big. My fiance ordered it on Blue Nile, and although they will resize your ring for free within 30 days of purchase, which we’re still within, I’m kind of freaked out by the idea of putting it in the mail. It’s yellow gold with a pear-shaped sapphire on either side of the center diamond, if that makes a difference, and it needs to go from a 7 to a 5.5. i’m thinking of just going to a local jewler- thoughts?

@future mrs Q: I’m sure a local jeweler would do it for a nominal fee and then you won’t have to wait weeks for it!

I took mine to a local jeweler and he did it in one day for a very reasonable price (I don’t remember how much he charged, but it wasn’t a lot). I’d recommend a non-chain place (not Zales or something)… places like Zales tend to send their work like that to a separate jeweler, so it takes longer for you to get it back!

Any reputable, local jeweller will do it. It does not need to be where it was purchased from. They should be able to do it within a week tops
