My fiance and I can’t decide where to get married. He wants outdoors, I want a church. There is a beautiful garden that we could get married in, but the aisle is slopped and I don’t think we could put up a tent if it rained. The church option is beautiful, but not my family church (I am Catholic, but can’t get married there since my fiance and I don’t want to promise to raise our kids Catholic). The church is my aunt’s religion, so she could marry us there. My aunt will be marrying us either place though. Please help. We can’t decide!

God created nature so outdoors is just as much his domain as a man-made construction. I would have issues marrying in a church I didn’t belong to or believe in, regardless of where the officiant belongs. But that’s just me.

Like Ember said I would also have a problem marrying in a church that was not a faith a believed in. However, my cousin got married in a church based on what it looked like. I was young so I don’t remember if it was the same religion she was or not but I know they did not belong to, lived nowhere near it, and and something tells me it was a different faith. I think it is your personal preference. If you and your fiance feel comfortable getting married at your aunt’s church then go for it.
What if you compromised and got married in a church (if that’s what you really want and feel comfortable with) and have the reception outdoors? That way your fiance still can have some fabulous outdoor shots!
