Dominican or Mexico are definitely more for partiers!

Aruba is a more mature crowd and more for relaxation…..and shopping.

I would say either Cancun/Maya Riveria or somewhere in Europe or South America. Brazil or Paraguay, maybe?

@Coral99:  Oooh Spain would be a great choice. But no AI’s. They don’t really have them in Europe.

We loved Secrets – The Vine. We were there last year. We are not partiers but it is an all inclusive, adult only, luxury hotel. There were “party” things to do if you wanted (day and night) but you could relax too. CanCun is a big party city, with lots of clubs and such.

Not Spain! I’ve been there three times in hopes it would improve and it has always disappointed me. I much prefer Greece then! However, swim up bars isn’t really something I’ve seen in Europe. I would probably go for a nice location in South America, Brazil is a good starting point. Nice beaches and much better food than what I’ve ever had in Spain. If your FH speaks Portuguese that would be an ideal place to go!

I don’t have many suggestions about where to go… but I’m curious about where you’re from! It looks gorgeous. Why don’t you go back there for your honeymoon?

@Mimoza: Well, as I wrote before I’ve been there three separate times so it has always been different things. The first time I spend about 2 weeks along the “Sun Coast” (not sure if that’s what it’s called in the US, but that’s what we call it in Sweden – essentially just along the Mediterranean coast). I just found it overbearingly touristy, packed with drunk people. Primarily really drunk, overweight, Germans or super loud UK teenagers. Second time was a 3 week tour from Barcelona to Bilbao. Sleepy, dusty, countryside and crap food. Last time was just over a year ago, when I spent a week at the Canary Islands. Disappointing beach and super touristy. I’m not saying all of Spain is crap, just that every single place that I’ve been to has been so and I’ve decided that I rather go elsewhere in the future.

Now, if you want crazy pretty beaches I can recommend Bermuda – although it’s not really an insane party place.

@Mimoza: Bermuda is insanely close and if you’re lucky you can get really cheap tickets there as well. DH and I went there in April last year and we paid $180 each for our round tickets. Very reasonable compared to what we’re used to pay for flight tickets!

I’m a cold person, so when we were there in early April I was able to wear shorts and dresses but not swim. A lot of other people did though. And just to get you an idea of the beach, this was the view from our balcony:

Not too shabby. 🙂 And I realize I’m all bundled up on this photo, but we had just arrived and Canada is still an icebox in April.

@Mimoza:  oh nice! i never knew albania was so beautiful… but i bet that is what keeps it a secret little gem. might have to add it on to my bucket list.

i don’t know about the party atmosphere but barbados has the most beautiful beaches i’ve ever seen. or would you consider thailand? ko phi phi is ridiculously stunning and if you go at the right time, full moon parties are wild!
