I’ve been on this forum for quite a while, but never signed up, because I didn’t feel I needed to. Now I’m going to share my thoughts with you! And maybe I will get some advice and tips aswell! My boyfriend and I have discussed getting married. In my country usually the man does propose, but we are very liberal, so it really does not have to be a “moment”. I am, therefore, not yet engaged! It would be nice if he would propose romantically though, but we’ll see.
Our budget we’ve discussed is about €4000 for the entire wedding. In my country, that’s less than average, but we know we can do it. (have a lot of friends providing stuff).
However, we don’t have a dressmaker we know! So, I’ve been going through thousands of posts, websites and forums to see where I can buy my dreamgown for very little money.
I have bought a bridesmaids dress for a wedding in September (2012) at lightinthebox.com and I am extremely impressed by the quality. You get exactly what you order! I had to have it taken in by a seamstress,(lost weight) and she said it was very well made. So, naturally, a wedding dress would be a good choice from that site. One of my best friends then ordered her wedding dress from there, and it was fabulous, for only €90!!! They have thousands of reviews with actual pictures of brides. It’s a really good company I think.
However, they don’t carry my dreamgown. They have lots of stuff, but I’m really particular.
So, my search went further. I read every possible review of:
etc etc etc
Really every Chinese retailer in the book. They do custom gowns, and designer gowns, but I never found one that had a really good reputation all over. Maybe Jasminebridal as often read on this site, but I find their site a little weird.
My conclusion after all: Fabulous U?!? And preownedweddingdresses (2nd hand). I’m looking for a special Maggie Sottero that I love. Retails at €2700 at a bridal store.
I’m ready to order at Fabulous U, for I have yet to find a negative review of them. Also nice: you can design your own gown there!
Has anyone designed their own gown there?
Thanx a bunch!
