I’d like to get a chapel or cathedral length, lace-edged, possibly mantilla style veil. Where I bought my gown these went for $1000 and I’d like to stay under $500. I’ve found a few places online but I’m hesitant to order since I’m worried about the color not matching the dress. I’ll be getting a swatch in a few weeks so ideally I’d like to find something that matches that as closely as possible.
Any recommendations for stores in the LA/San Fernando Valley/OC area where I can buy a good quality veil for a reasonable price? If you know of anyone that can make a custom veil that would work too. Thanks in advance.

Try Candi Merle at Crowning Glory Designs for a custom veil. I haven’t gotten around to contacting her, but I plan to based on the Project Wedding reviews. The brides almost all mention that she had great prices.

If you are at all crafty you could make it for a tenth of the cost… Making veils is really fun 🙂

Thanks Mrs.LLC, I got the same recommendation on another board, Candi Merle definitely seems like the person to go to. Waiting to pick up my fabric swatch so I can contact her. So happy I’ll be spending even less than I thought!
Mrs.DG – No crafty here 🙂 I can do a long multiplication in my head like nobody’s business but can barely saw a button :))

I would try bridal shops, Lily’s Bridal in Tarzana (where I got my dress and veil from) seemed to have a good selection of veils. I also heard there’s another store in the valley that carries many accessories, I think it’s called Pebbles Bridal?

I got my mantilla from this site and was VERY pleased.
They have several cathedral length veils for under $400.
The woman who makes them is very easy to work with and can customize whatever you want.
