Where to buy a suit?

We are doing the same thing as you!  Do you have Men’s Wearhouse where you are?  That’s where we got one for my son…he’s only 10, so we didn’t see the need to spend hundreds of dollars on a suit he’ll probably grow out of by June.  They had a special ~ buy the blazer, and get the pants for free.  Score!

For my FI and his son (who is 17) we went to Jos A. Bank.  They had a Buy One, Get One special, so even though the suits there are expensive (about $700) we got two for that price so it was actually a good dea for two beautifully made wool suits.  Plus, FI wears suits for work, so he’ll get a lot of use out of his after the wedding.

You can also try places like Marshalls or TJ Maxx, but then you have to find someone to tailor them, which can be a hassle.

Good luck!  = )

Our groomsmen are wearing suits from H&M. Super affordable. The groom is wearing a suit from Zara, also a good option!

My fiancé and I bought him two very nice suits, as well as two suits for our fathers when they had their big bogo free sale. I would watch for that sale to happen again and attack then

@ladydirtold:  My fiance recently had to wear a black suit for a wedding he was the best man in and we got it at JCPenney. It was about $140, including the shirt, but we pretty much got everything on sale. The suit he’s going to wear for our wedding is khaki colored and we got the jacket at JCPenney for $35 on clearance and I found him some pants that matched at Belk for about $45. In fact, I just bought his pants today and in the men’s dress clothes section, evvvverything was on sale. And they have a nice selection. If you have a Belk near you, I’d check there.

@ladydirtold:  What is your budget?  Also, I really recommend going with navy or charcoal grey.  Black suits are of extremely limited use, and don’t look all that good on most people, especially in daylight.

Nordstrom is pretty good.  If your budget is “as cheapp as possible” then Men’s Wearhouse is an option, but I would avoid them if you can afford something better.  If you’re looking at spending more than $500/suit, I have more suggestions, but if you’re in the $500 or less ball park, I wuld go to Nordstrom.  But be aware of which ones are trendy, and which ones are classic (do some reading) so that you know what you’re buying.

If it is to be an only suit, the best clour is charcoal.  If it’s a first suit, navy is generally best.
