@blessings:  not really sure what your definition of expensive is, but i would recommend in store or on etsy… my own personal opinion is to buy in store to try on with your dress.  from what i noticed sashes could not be returned from some of the sellers on etsy.

@blessings: Have you tried your local wedding consignment store? Usually the prices are discounted much lower than retail. I purchased my cathedral length wedding veil, necklace, and jeweled hair clips for about $100.

My dress came with a sash but it was too ‘low key’ for me, so I got a black ‘horse hair’ sash. I love it, so I got it from davids bridal from the Vera Wang collection.

And than I saw one being advertised on lightinthebox (side panel where google advertises based on what you look up) and so I ordered one from there, it was super cheap so I thought that if I didnt use it, it was no big deal.

Im waiting for them both to arrive to me. But that one on lightinthebox had great reviews.

Could you tell me what kind of sash you are looking for?

http://www.shopkirstenkuehndesigns.com – I got the Cameron sash. She accepts returns as well which is awesome!

Also – if any of you happen to be located around Chicago she does studio appointments, I went in and tried on a bunch of options when I was on a business trip!

I got my sash from Jasmine’s Bridal Shop and was very happy with the results.

It wasn’t super cheap (cost with shipping was about $130), but compared to the $500 I was quoted for the original at the bridal store, it was a bargain!

@blessings:  I was able to get my belt from the store. They sold me their sample belt at 60% off.  It will probably depend on the store and how old the sample is.

If you’re even a little bit crafty, you could easily sew/attach a vintage (or vintage-style) rhinestone necklace or brooch to a yard of plain, wide grosgrain ribbon.
