i'd look at nordstrom, macy's, H&M, and david's bridal. i know a lot of brides aren't crazy about DB... but they certainly have a wide variety in style, color, and most are under $120. good luck!! :)
We got ours at David's Bridal for $120!
i got my dresses here for just under $100 per
http://www.justthebeginnings.com
this site's cheap too
We got ours from Nordstrom on sale. I would also suggest the Ann Taylor sale if they are in Canada. Banana Republic may be another option depending on color. SOunds like you should be checking department stores this summer (end of season sales) or next spring. My girls bought their dresses last August for our wedding this September. I know it was quite early but it was nice to have them done and htey had a whole year for alterations, shoes, etc.
we got ours at perfectbridal.com - they are designer dresses, straight from manufacturer thru a brick and mortar store, but without the markup. a dress that was 190 at a store, we got for about $99 online. they came a couple weeks ago and look FABULOUS.
As a fellow Canadian bride, I understand how frustrating the search can be.
But we found ours at RW&Co for $88!
I got ours from White House Black Market for initally $130-120... then they went on sale and we got a price adjustment, so they ended up being around $86.
I would check out Nordstrom the usually have a lot of nice dresses. Also if there is a particular bridesmaid dress that you like I recomment netbride. My bridesmaid gowns were originally $236 and I got them for $150 from netbride.com
I feel your pain, if you are ok with buying online then you will definitely find better deals.
For my wedding, my bridal party didn't feel comfortable doing this so they paid an arm and a leg for their dresses.
I am the MOH for my friend's wedding and I took a gamble buying mine on Jcrew, I signed up for an account and they sent me a free shipping code if I spend $150 and on top of it, my dress was on sale.
I ended up buying the Sophia dress in chiffon (along with a couple of sweaters) and it fit me perfectly although I was weary of the sizing and I did factor in the cost of alterations if I had to get them done.
The other great thing is that Jcrew handles the taxes and duties for you so you don't have to deal with stupid UPS.
The cost of my dress was $89.99 with taxes & duties included.
SCORE!
My girls got Alfred Angelo dresses at a bridal store for about $125 each.
I bought mine online from Nordstrom, they ship to Canada! They were on sale for $75 CAD, and with tax, shipping, and customs we ended up paying about $100/dress.
I got mine from Dessy's After Six line for $130. They have a TON of colors so I'm sure they would have the right turquoise blue!
As a BM, I've worn dresses from JCrew twice that cost $110 and $140.
I got mine here...I actually went to the store in NY to look at them..they always have sales!
i am having my ladies buy theres at debs for only 39 dollars. no its not a hootchie momma dress. my wedding is in june so i wanted a knee length dress not to hot for them and in black. my ladies are in college and i didnt want to finicial ruin them with my wedding!!!! this is the dres i choose in all black !!!

oh and ps you can order they dresses from debs.com and they ship to you !!!! and they carry regular sizes 0-15 and larger sizes !!!

Hey Bees,
Was wondering where you guys have gotten your bridesmaid dresses that don't cost so much from a bridal store! Are there any online stores that you can shop at? I have already picked a color for my bridesmaids but I don't really want them to pay $200 for dress! Any ideas? (I'm in Canada) My color is kinda turquoise blue color and I'm getting married in the summer of 2011!
I could shop at the sale racks but most of the colors on the racks are red and black and don't have the sizes I need. I've tried the Bay and Sears, and at a Prom shop here in town...
